I'm a boring big'ead, since our 69-70 championship-winning days hasn't been a game of any importance I've failed to get to see Pretty much used to huge disappointment then in the main like the rest of us then. Make the (very) occasional success even nicer. 👍

Love to have been at some of the games mentioned. My earliest memories of consistently going Orient were from the mid-80's as a 5/6/7 year old and swinging on the bars of the North Terrace. What's the biggest attendance you've all been part of at Brisbane Road? Think mine would have been when we played West Ham in the Fa Cup in 1987 not sure of the attendance but it seemed pretty full.

Personally for me the 70’s was the best time. We played some good football and had some quality players then. I do remember the 60’s 😱 but unfortunately I just missed out on the promotion to the first division I was to young( god that sounds good). IMO I think we lost our way in the 80’s and never got back. However times move on and obviously people will have there own opinions about things. Up the O’s and hope we get back to winning ways today🙈

On my Facebook page, old football papers on times gone by get posted. Always an interesting read. One just posted from 1st December 62. Div 1 (Prem) we enjoyed a 1-1 draw away at Blackburn Rovers. Others in the top flight included Bolton, who got tanked 5-0 by Villa, Blackpool who drew with Birmingham whilst Ipswich beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Div 2 (championship) saw Newcastle drawing 0-0 with Bury, and included Leeds United, Chelsea, Norwich, Southampton and Grimsby Town. Div 3 (League 1). Included Brighton, Crystal Palace, Watford and Southend. Div 4 (league 2), included Brentford. We really were a big club in them there days. Notable drop outs include Workington, Southport, Darlington, Chester, Torquay, York City, Notts County, Halifax, Bury, Southend, Grimsby, Wrexham, Aldershot. Maybe others who didn’t play that day. I count myself very lucky to have been a fan in those great days when I took big games from granted and rarely looked further than the top two divisions, or maybe the top of the third in anticipation of next seasons fixtures. The ups and downs to tier 2. Just out of interest dohnut, has it got the attendance at the Newcastle game
