Paul Tisdale takes over as boss at Stevenage. Decent appointment I would have thought.

That's interesting. I wonder if it is as just a manager / coach or if it includes the whole business side of the football club. He seemed really into it previously.

Remember when everyone said we could not afford him? Ling never called him? Just goes to show how wrong so many people were, cos if they can afford him we certainly could. I wish him well.

Tisdale's last payoff is presumably running out and I dare say he needs to pay the rent. While the Stevenage job doesn't sound exciting, it's a decently run club and Tisdale hasn't exactly been hitting the heights recently.

Ain’t that the truth. His stock of course may have gone down since then but I was incensed by the clubs attitude towards the potential at the time. Pathetic beyond belief. Shocking in fact. Certainly not the approach of someone with Director in their job title! But that’s history and I’m happy with KJ. Though I would have been just as happy with Tisdale at the time. Can I assume KJ works cheap when Tisdale doesn’t.

Arrival of additional investors coupled to a rethink on the way forward probably paved the way for KJ's appointment.

It's going south at a rate of knots for Wellens.

You got to give it to Wellens he did battle it out for a while, you even mentioned him as a potential imminent casualty in your opening post in the thread 😆

Interesting that a lot of the names mentioned for when Ross left have had jobs and left them already.
Nigel Adkins Wellens Tisdale

Shows what a mug Ling was to to say that. He preferred someone like Ross he could exert influence over. Great that sense prevailed and higher-ups stopped all that nonsense and got King Kenny in.

Perhaps he has lowered the asking price.

Perhaps he has lowered the asking price. Maybe redshank but going back a couple of years to when this was all current it seemed that ML had a rather narrow and limited perspective with regard to who might be in the running as possible contenders for the managers job. At one of the fans forum’s he dismissed the potential Tisdale / Nathan Jones options pretty much out of hand effectively saying it wasn’t even worth approaching such individuals. Fortunately he seems to have revised that outlook and overcome that previous lack of ambition .

Paul Cook called himself “ the Demolition Man” during the close season . It looks as though he’s ended up as part of the rubble!😁 Tbh this doesn’t surprise me. The new American owners took over about six weeks after he was appointed and signing 19 players in the summer and getting rid of 20 odd others always was a huge gamble. The fans / local press never really took to him and time has now run out.
