Bristol Rovers at home was my first ever game mid 60s and we lost 0-2, I don’t keep record of games but I would say it’s the fixture that I have seen more than any other in the last 50+ years.

Great stats, much enjoyed.Bristol Rovers always seemed better than us.I went to Eastville in the 1969-1970 promotion season,we lost 1-0,a bank holiday week-end,then went to Doncaster where we won 0-1 on the Monday.I have a soft spot for donny,I don't know why.Perhaps it is because we whacked them 8-0 when they were on the way down.

I remember that game like it was yesterday - I was abroad and trying to hear the result on good old BBC World Service steam radio with its bloody awful reception. I think Carl (Green) Gilbert got the goal for them.

Let’s take a look at the stats of two players who were questioned prior to their arrival and derided for their stats. You know who you are.
Smith 6 goals in 5 games plus two subs appearances and 4 man of the match awards Drinan 3 goals in 6 games plus 2 assists
Now if those stats are s*** and you think they are not good enough in their stats I suggest you treat yourself to a PlayStation and sit in front of your tv and play pretending that you Ronaldo or someone else cos you know absolutely nothing about football, players, managers and how things work in this game.
I’m so glad they play for us cos with those stats we have a real opportunity to progress in an upwards fashion.

I spent time looking at the Smith stats in detail and as I have posted before a couple of times, his scoring record is actually better than his stats suggest. Something I posted before his first game for us. Most stats are goals per game but if you look at goals per minute played, you get a very different view. His record is a lot better, to the point I wondered why the hell Northampton were letting him go. Still mystifies me. of course we know you don’t understand or like stats so it amuses me you keep bringing them up.
