Is there something different about the women's game with regard to injuries? Two abandoned games from 5 starts.

One player gets injured so game abandoned, what sort of mickey mouse league is this that the LOFC Women are playing in ? They are playing in the lowest tier sanctioned by the F.A. Last year's team carried the name of LO but they are really another club entirely and did not want T and T tking it over, so the two sides parted company. The team changed its name to "Seaward" and continue to play in tier 4. LOFC had to start a new team and were forced to start at the lowest level despite the obvious high level of commitment and resources availble. It is hoped we will pi55 this league and be awarded several jumps up the hierachy next season.

Regardless of this new ladies team having to restart at the lowest level league, well the FA rules regarding football are just the same regardless of what level League your team is playing in. Of course you can get a situation where an injury to a player is so serious, that the players feel deeply upset and unable to continue the game, perhaps that was the case in this abandoned game.

Further to what I wrote above, I found the match report of the game LOFC Women v Leyton AFC and found this part in the report which explains the incident which resulted in the game being abandoned. Lastly, I hope that the opposition goal keeper is not too seriously injured and is able to make a good recovery so that she can play again some time in the future.
FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS SEASON LEYTON ORIENT SAW A GAME ABANDONED AND, LIKE THE PREVIOUS OCCASION AGAINST RIDGEWAY ROVERS, THE TEAM WERE IN A WINNING POSITION.
I quote, ..''Unfortunately, an absorbing game was brought to a premature end in the 65th minute. After a swift break from the Orient half, Williams-Peart looked set to add a fourth for the O’s, when an AFC defender, on her way to tackle, collided with their goalie – resulting in a nasty ankle injury for the keeper. This injury required medical attention and brought the game to an end.''

Leyton AFC hve their own YouTube channel at
They have a video of the abandoned game. The stndard is as you'd expect from a start up team but these girls have fitness, at least as far as the game went. Leyton were as good as us, just lacked a bit of pace at key moments, this was no walkover. The Leyton club have a couple of "who we are" videos, very impressed with their enthusiasm and hard work.

ö I heard different , apparently the player lost a false eyelash and was so upset they called the game off 🤔🤔

I had a quick look at the video, but at 45 minutes long far too long for me to sit and watch the whole 45 minutes.
The two teams looked fairly even standard to me. The pitch looked in very good condition, well marked out etc, I wonder if it is an artificial grass surface ?
Ahh, I just noticed that there is a link on the video to show the time of when the goals are scored, click the time and you go straight to that time on the video.
IMO, the last goal scored ( which is by Leyton AFC ) is the best one ! Goals 09:54 (LO) 30:55 (LO) 35:29 (LO) 37:06 (ACFL)

I am somewhat surprised that in this lowly division, there are two ladies teams from Leyton. They are very different operations Dennis. Leyton AFC are a dedicated women's football club, not a women's team within a men's club. They are an un-sponsored "local community" organisation and so everything is paid for and achieved by the people involved within it. Leyton Orient WFC is a very different kettle of fish with a board of directors (same as the men's board), an operating budget, access to marketing and media people and are able to recruit on a more professional basis, their aims are for progress into the national women's league and to grow as a club and as a business. These ambitions are what led to the break up with Seaward/Kikk who share those goals but wanted to retain control and ownership of the women's operation. I guess LOWFC is no more focused upon E.10 than the men's team are, Leyton AFC are a local organisation.

I just found the website ( see below ) of Leyton AFC, very impressive and all concerned would seem to be doing a wonderful and worthwhile job for the local community, bravo Leyton AFC !
