I say it the way I see it, and I always thought windowson was ok, and Craig clay would have been my first name on the team sheet. I happen to think that nouble and ray are poor , Khan cannot defend to save his life and offers nothing as a winger, and paying £80,000 for a player of Coleman’s ability is laughable. I would love those assessments to be wrong, but I let my eyes be the judge. JUST REALISED I PUT ARCHIBALD AND OBVIOUSLY MEANT KHAN, SO HAVE AMENDED IT.

I AM SORRY BUT I MISTAKENLY POSTED THAT ARCHIBALD COULDNT DEFEND TO SAVE HIS LIFE AND WAS NO BETTER. AS A WINGER. I MEANT KHAN, AND I AM SURPRISED THAT NOBODY PULLED ME UP ON IT. I HAVE AMENDED IT.

To be fair, when Archibald moved to LWB his defending was suspect. But he did improve quickly in my opinion. But I have a liking for Wing Backs and accept their defensive abilities are less than regular Full backs, but I like the extra they provide going forward. Attack being the best form of defence stuff. James is an exception, a great defender and an accomplished attacking Wing Back. Rare. Khan just cannot defend. Gets into wrong positions, loses his man, weak in the tackle. Just doesn’t know the job. But I actually like him further forward. Potential to be good. And recently when played in his correct role, looks good.

Probably the best we’ve had at the position since Terry Howard.

Probably the best we’ve had at the position since Terry Howard. I personally think Terry is one of the most over rated players we ever had. I never got nor saw the adulation a section of the supporters had for him. I'm not saying he was a bad footballer, he wasn't, but I also don't hold him up as some sort of footballing God either. As for he's the best right back prior to James is frankly laughable. Matt Joseph was a far better full back and a far better footballer in my opinion. Finally Matt is working for the FA as a FA youth coach educator and has been in the role since Sept 14. Good on him, love it that he can share back to fresh blood knowledge, skills advice etc.

My taking for what it’s worth is that KJ had a decent budget at the beginning of the season and brought in the likes of James and Archibald and Smythe on top wages and gambled on having very few or no injuries which on the whole worked up till Xmas.Once the injuries kicked in the board would not back him fully and the rest is history

Tbf to Jackett I don’t think anyone would have predicted the extent of the injury / illness issues we had last season. Reilly and Smyth were never fit and remember the Tranmere game when we had to go in with only 15 players including Sweeney being recalled from Wealdstone 24 hours earlier! Unprecedented in my recollection.
