Listening to his interviews, I get the impression that this job is a stop off to his future and that as soon as a lucrative 'northern job's on offer he will he off. He will do well for us next season but not see it out. There's is no specific reason for me saying this, just a feeling/perception
True, especially in todays football climate, but I'm not convinced of his commitment to Orient as a club.I believe he will do his best for the team and himself but if opportunity arises not for long
You just can’t tell ,he might be gone before next Xmas (sacked).
What's the matter with you lot, we sack one manager because we weren't winning, get one in we start winning then yous two start trying to undermine the good factor feeling of us winning.

There was quite a bit of speculation on the “ other board” that Wellens actually turned the club down twice before accepting a third offer. Even if true , there is nothing wrong with that of course - he has to make a living and is using a strong bargaining position but it could indicate that your feeling might have some traction?

How is that even remotely controversial should it be the case (which I doubt)? Do you expect him to stay in League 2 forever? I think every single player and manager in this division sees their current position as a stop off before hopefully going higher up the pyramid.
I fully trust all of our staff to want to make that journey up with us, but if that doesn’t happen then of course they would want to go up if given the chance.
I’ve actually not gotten that impression at all from him but one thing I did notice today and have thought about before is that he really, thoroughly and fully, dislikes Salford these days and can’t resist the smallest opportunity to make that known to anyone who listens 🤣
Anybody who sees league 2 or Leyton Orient as the pinnacle of their ambitions would be an unambitious manager. Of course he wants higher, whether with us or someone else. No big deal.
What matters is how he progresses our football club whilst he is here and if he does that as part of developing his own ambitions, that fine.
Absolutely nothing wrong with an ambitious and talented manager using lower league clubs as stepping stones when the clubs they are with also gain.
If he gets poached then he will have done well. He jumped ship to go from Swindon to Salford which he acknowledged did not work out so may be reluctant to do aagain. After failing at Donny could be that this could be his last chance in the EFL

Didn't he leave Swindon when they decide to go to war with themselves in their own boardroom. Salford didn't work but Donny was a joke club during his tenure there. I'd say he's probably happy to finally have a stable club.

I really believe the interpretation and dissection of his character is unrealistic and unfair
The guy has a personality and that good to have -hopefully he gets the lofc club stabilised and all thinking in the same wavelength and we win more than others and go up
Lofc just cannot keep to the frequency of manager : head coach sackings as over recent years - it’s trashing our brand - and every change results in more players going and others coming in to suit the revised new style implemented
That abortive costs outweigh the reduced costs if lofc stick with one person longer in charge
Whether the guy likes living in around London is a personal matter for him and his family to work out
I don't know what was the catalyst for this thread.
I haven't particularly warmed to RW. I don't know why. I like his confidence and his attitude. But it feels false.
Results speak for themselves and this form see's us promoted so I can live with it.
Anyway. That was my feelings towards RW and as long as he is here and we're winning I couldn't really give a s***.
Yeah, I’ve said this before, I thought I was on my own! I find it hard to like the guy for some reason I can’t quite put my finger on.
He’s doing a good job at the moment though, so no complaints from me. If he gets us promoted and then leaves for a bigger club, then good on him. I can’t remember any managers since frank clark going on to bigger and better things after the O’s.
Was Brian Clough easy to like?, just let this guy do his stuff and get us on the up.. He seems to know what he’s doing and has the respect of the players, which will undoubtedly be followed by the supporters, if success ensues!!!
I must admit that I wish I hadn't started this thread. I have nothing against RW and feel that he wants to make us successful. It's just something that doesn't strike me as an Orient club man.

Exactly. I don’t care who is our manager, nor do I care whether I like him and the players. Though respect is important to me. I’ve respected many people I don’t like.
If we are doing the business on the field that matters to me. So good luck RW.
