From spurs' website, talking about one of their girl players visiting a school in Leyton and giving out tickets for their upcoming game at Brissy.
To quote...
"It was the first of many sessions for our Global Football Development team, who will be delivering in Leyton schools throughout the coming season to drive participation in football amongst girls alongside opportunities to win tickets to Spurs Women matches at Brisbane Road"
Am l right to be peeved by this? It's like we don't exist.

Anyone know what the arrangements are for who pockets the gate money or do Spurs pay us in other ways? I don't know how the wonga is spread about but Nigel T said (streamed interview with Ollie Buck on Saturday just gone) he was very happy with the deal and that it would also mean we get a hybrid pitch for next season. He said that it would help player recruitment because good players want to play on good surfaces.

Does that mean our pitch has to mate with a plastic one?

Does that mean our pitch has to mate with a plastic one? I think it means it can go slowly on battery power for a couple of minutes.

The women was meant to play a cup game yesterday vs Beecholme Belles.
It was awarded our way by virtue of a walkover. Which I assume means the other team couldn't field an XI or a minimum of 8.
Whatever, we're in the next round of the Middlesex Cup.

Whatever, we're in the next round of the Middlesex Cup. Ah! I saw that Olivia was looking for a friendly game but it seems there were no takers. There's huge pressure for our girls' team to move up the pyramid to get away from such things as walk-overs, playing on Wanstead Flats or being involved in 10-0 games.

"3rd" teams can often have help from players from the 1st and 2nd teams. A bit of a lottery at this level. All we can do is keep moving up the pyramid to get better football on better pitches with better officials. It will take time. Currently, we are the last unbeaten team in this division.

Slightly embarrassing? That would put the difference in status between the clubs into sharp (and unpalatable) focus. As it is, their No 9 could buy us with his loose change it seems.

Spurs Ladies had 1800 versus Man City on Satuday. Our last home match we had 8700 so lot less

Report from Leyton Orient made it seven games unbeaten in a remarkable 3-2 comeback win against West London rivals Brentford B. After going down just five minutes into the match, courtesy of a defensive error, the Os showed character against arguably the toughest side they’ve faced in the league this season. Danny Martin’s ladies were only down for 20 minutes, before the in-form Jordan Feldman was there to capitalise on the Brentford goalkeeper spilling the ball after an effort from Taylor-Newsam.
The first half remained a tight one, with both sides creating chances but ultimately going into the break level.
Just after the second half kicked off, Brentford took the lead again, with a direct free-kick nestling into the far corner.
A period of sustained pressure from the Bees followed but Orient remained resolute and tight at the back.
Both full-backs performed well in the game, providing defensive cover but also options on the wing through penetrating runs.
Duffield put in a spectacular performance from right-back, which culminated in a much-deserved equaliser for Leyton Orient – after she provided the assist for Miller to head home from a set piece, 11 minutes from full time.
This spurred the Os on, as they displayed dominance in Brentford’s half for the remainder of the match and forced the goalkeeper into making three saves.
However, Orient’s determination paid dividends, with Bates completing the comeback; scoring a sublime goal across the goalkeeper and straight into the top corner in the 84th minute.
Feldman even scored again three minutes later, although it was chalked off for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Delighted with his side’s resilience, Manager, Danny Martin, said: “Today was massive, a bit of a slow start from us – but then we really got into the game. They’re not a bad side, as you can see from where they are in the table – so for us it’s a huge result and show of camaraderie and togetherness to grind that out.
“Remaining unbeaten is a credit to the team, they’re working really hard in training and for each other on the pitch, they deserve that. The girls work hard every week and do so for one another, which is why we are where we are in the table.”
Next match is (again) a top versus 2nd place confrontation: AFC Leyton are a tough group, they have three players currently suspended by the league.
06/11/22: kick off 14:00 at BUCKHURST HILL FOOTBALL CLUB
Leyton Orient VS AFC Leyton
