Most WSL crowds are still tiny ie 2000 or less unless they are one offs at the PL grounds. TH women had around only 500 at BRoad for the cup match versus Coventry United on Sunday. Against Man City at BRoad there were around 800- 1000. I was at both What's the overall experience at a WSL game at BR?

Further to LOFC's announcement the women's team will play the remaining fixtures of this season at Myrak Park, Buckhurst Hill, the 'sister' club of Leyton Orient, this is just to say it is a million miles away from the kind of experience you get at Hackney Marshes / Wanstead Flats. Myrak has a small covered stand with seating, and hard-standing terraced area, proper dugouts, a full-sized fully fenced pitch and ample floodlights. There's a fair amount of car parking and a concrete pathway around most of the perimeter. This is no windswept peat bog but a well appointed venue located within a nicely kept park. If you fancy watching our girls play on a Sunday afternoon, you won't be disappointed at the facilities. I don't know if there's any kind of hostelry on hand, if anyone knows....... It is located on Roding Lane, about 1/2 mile from Buckhurst Hill station, here's the entrance.

What do you mean by “sister club of Leyton Orient”? Have we joined forces with another club then?

What do you mean by “sister club of Leyton Orient”? Have we joined forces with another club then? As explained to me, LOFC have made some kind of connection with Buckhurst Hill WFC and with a similar club in Writtle where there is a shared centre of excellence facility for female players. I don't know the depth of the joint agreement/s or even if there is any kind of contractual relationship. Martin Ling used the phrase "sister club" several weeks ago to point to some kind of sharing of resources and general collaboration. BHWFC play in the Eastern Counties WFL whereas our girls play in the Greater London WFL hence there is no conflict between the two teams. I don't know what BHWFC get out of it but we get a really nice home venue for this season, The folks at BHFC have made huge investments into their home ground on Roding Lane, it's top notch relative to any other grass roots club I've ever seen. Clearly they have a vision. That's all I know. I used to be the club secretary of a LT Central, a railway based football club (1970s). We played in the old East London and Essex Border league - Premier division. We had a great pitch at the Crooked Billet at Walthamstow, we had new-ish changing rooms and shower block plus use of the bar and social club. We had a private car park, dedicated grounds staff and good budget for a works team. I enjoyed doing it and that's probably why I have such an interest in LOWFC as they are hard at work building their club from nothing. I was much better club sec than I was a player - sadly.

Fisch where do you get your info? Certainly not on the official site I have a Twitter account (hate it) and l use it only to keep up to date with Olivia Worsfold, Julian the cabbie, coach Danny Martin and others who sometimes post some info. In the club's defence, it is all a bit grass roots at the moment (example: the ref turned up late today, the same happened last week) and the defeat at Civil Service was the result of some terrible external influences. The GLWFL website is pretty good too. If the girls get promoted again this season, they will enter the Greater London Premier League and, hopefully, they can leave most of that shyte behind.

December 4th 2022.LOFC Women record a 4-1 win over AFC Leyton, with goals from Olivia Worsfold, two from Jordan Feldman and one from Shanice Taylor-Newsham. Club skipper Worsfold reports that some players have stepped up from the under 18s for the last couple of matches. Famed Orient fan Julian-the-Cabbie attended the match at Myrek Park and tells us, in his words, the referee showed up late (same thing last week) and "it was bloody freezin'". All today's result are in, it's the half-way point of the season, they are:

The only game to go ahead today in the Greater London Women's Football League, Division 1 North saw Brentford beat Actonians 4-1 to move into second place behind the Os. It's looking more like a 2-team race for the promotion spot with Brentford now just 1 point behind us, a one-goal better GD although we have one game in hand. The next team are 8 points further back. The winner of Division1 (north) get's a slot in next season's GLWFL premiership. Probably vital for LOFC women to keep the momentum. League table: (click to see full size)

That's it for 2022, next game won't be until 15/01/23, a county cup game against Tooting Bec. I guess it'll be deadly quiet here for a while.

The girls returned to action after the holidays on Sunday 15th January with a Capital Cup match at Tooting Bec. A tight game finished with a 1-0 win for the south Londoners.
We return to Greater London Women's Football League (GLWFL) Division One (North) action next Sunday. We're still top but with at least two clubs breathing down our neck.

Were Tooting Bec from a higher division? The same level, we are GLWFL divion 1 north, Tooting Bec are in GLWFL division 1 south, and close to the top of it. The top team from each are normally promoted to the GLWFL Premier Division which appears to be Level 7 of the women's league pyramid.

Here's an overview of the GLWFL as seen from the women's national governing body, the CGL....
The Greater London Women’s Football League! The CGL warmly congratulate them on their 50th Anniversary Season and are proud to work together to promote and grow girls and women’s football in Greater London.
The Greater London Women’s Football League (GLWFL) provide consistent, well organised and competitive women’s football for teams in and around London. The GLWFL sits at Tier 7 of the FA women’s pyramid at grassroots level and is the exclusive London entrance to begin progressing through the women’s pyramid. The GLWFL holds the honour of being the only Women`s FA Affiliated League to serve teams affiliated to London, Middlesex, Amateur and Surrey FA`s and are celebrating their 50th season this year!
All teams in the GLWFL battle it out for the title of becoming the next divisional champions, along with participating in a selection of ability related cup competitions within those divisions, as well as the one and only, FA Women’s Cup. These cup competitions are available to all teams upon joining the GLWFL.
They have over 50 affiliated teams each season across 5 divisions and play every Sunday from September through to May.

P W D L Pts 1 Leyton Orient 9 8 1 0 25 2 Brentford B 10 8 0 2 24 3 AFC Leyton 9 5 1 3 16 4 Tower Hamlets 11 5 1 5 16 5 East London 10 4 3 3 15 6 Forest Crusaders 7 3 1 3 10 7 Actonians 3rds 10 2 3 5 9 8 Enfield Tn 3rds 10 3 1 6 9 9 Luton Town Res 9 2 0 7 6 10 Hackney Res 9 1 1 7 3
Tower Hamlets have been unbeatable one minute, easily despatched the next. One wonders which team will make the trip to Buckhurst Hill on Sunday. Brentford B are playing a cup game this week so this is our chance to make that game-in-hand pay off and stretch the lead at the top to 4 points.
