Did Brentford ladies lose?(or drew) we seem to have a bigger gap now Something seems to be wrong unless Brentford lost a league game recently. I can only find a cup defeat which may have been included in the league results by mistake. l'll keep an eye on it.

There's no women's game this weekend (Sun 5th Feb) for any of the title chasing teams in the Greater London Women's Football League Division 1 - North. LOFC are looking to secure a friendly game to keep their match fitness up but it's looking unlikely even though they can host the match at their home ground at Buckhurst Hill FC's ground on Roding Lane, Buckhurst Hill. Our next league game is on the following Sunday 12th Feb at home against the in-form team from Tower Hamlets who spent the opening games getting walloped but are now unbeaten in 4 and have clearly turned their season around. That game will be followed by another empty Sunday until we meet middle-table side East London on 26th Feb. Our closest rivals, Brentford 'B', have no league fixture until 26th Feb on which date they will play Tower Hamlets.

A last minute organised friendly game against Eastern Region (Tiers 5 and 6 of the women's national game) side Haringey Borough Women's FC was played on Sunday 5th which saw our girls run out 3-0 winners with goals from Hunt, skipper Worsfield and Taylor-Newsam. Let's hope the help with the match fitness levels pays off in our search for automatic promotion.

The club that used to run LOWFC, now called Seaward, are above us in tier 6 so, hopefully, we can return there and tke things from where we left off. There are dozens of regional leagues at tier 6, our current level is deemed "grass roots".

The women's football pyramid for 2022/23 (it changes from time to time depending upon how many stable clubs are active)
Tier 1 The FA Women’s Super League Tier 2 The FA Women’s Championship Tier 3 The FA Women’s National League - Northern Premier Division Southern Premier Division Tier 4 The FA Women’s National League - Division 1 North, Division 1 Midlands, Division 1 South East, Division 1 South West Tier 5 The FA Women’s National League - Division 2 North, Division 2 Midlands, Division 2 South East, Division 2 South West Tier 6 Premier divisions - regional leagues Tier 7 Regional divisions of regional leagues Tier 8 Lower regional divisions of regional leagues Tier 9 Grass roots regional leagues
We are at tier 7, the Greater London Women's Football League is a regional league (GLWFL is based in greater London). If we win promotion, we will enter tier 6, the GLWFL premier division. Our old club (now called London Seaward) are at tier 4 in division 1 South-east of the national Women's league. When Seaward and LOFC couldn't agree a way forward and Seaward left the partnership, they took their registration with them, that's why we had to start at the bottom. Promotion isn't strictly by winning your league, at the lower levels, well financed and organised clubs can jump a tier or two in order that each league produces competitive games. We didn't win our league last season but due to the facilities and and financial strength of the women's team, we were promoted anyway. Judging by our position at the top of the league, that would seem to have been a sensible decision.

Some feedback please. I've put together a website for the Women's team which is much easier to update than to keep writing tables and stuff here. It is designed to work on large monitors and mobile phones by auto-adjusting itself. If it proves stable, I'll update it and put a link in this thread each time there's something to report. Your views would be appreciated as to how it resolves on your device. Cheers. LOWFC results and standings.

Cheers Thor. I use a Blackview (it's a brick with huge battery) and people around me are mostly iphone folk. The grid system I use for auto-scale websites can be a bit finicky on some phones so your feedback is vital to know how people see stuff. It's designed to be "mobile first" but scale it self up to big screens in such a way as to not look like a children's first reader. I try to keep my hand in with web design if only to ward off dementia ... assuming it makes any difference.

Tough game today against Tower Hamlets who we beat 8-0 on the opening day of the season. However, since then, TH have either recruited very well or have performed miracles having scored 4 league wins and a draw in their last 5 matches. They now lay 3rd in the league, this is a crunch match in the O's attempts to finish as division 1 (North) champions.

Sun 12th Feb 2023, GLWFL division 1 (North) Leyton Orient 3-1 Tower HamletsDespite a resurgent Tower Hamlets displaying why they have turned their season around to become one of the top sides in the division, the Orient girls proved a bridge too far for them today. The opening goal from Pierce (16mins) was answered by the away side in the 39th minute which meant the sides went into half-time level. If there were ever any lingering thoughts that Tower Hamlets would be anything like the team who lost 8-0 to Leyton Orient on the opening day of the season, their hard fought display meant that such thoughts were to be banished. lt took some stout defending by both sides to keep the scores level but the deadlock was broken in the 78th minute when Pierce hit her second of the game. Orient relied on keeper Durojaiye to keep out a couple of goal-worthy efforts from Tower Hamlets but their fightback was finally killed off by an 88th minute strike by Duffield. Orient remain unbeaten for the season having dropped only one point to 2nd place Brentford who are now 7 points back but have a game in hand. The girls are next back in league action on 26th February against mid-table East London, second placed Brentford will play today's opponents , Tower Hamlets, on the same day. The outcome of that game should say quite a bit about where we are. Pre match interview with LOWFC head coach Danny Martin
Updated scores and league table
Eleisia Williams-Peart served the first of her 3-match suspension today. I don't know how that came about. Attachments:
