I thought Ruel was amazing today. Wouldn't go that far but he was good. Just seemed more aware of his teammates than usual and played off em well. He's one I really doubted could make the step up but, although the same old frustrations are there for the most part, his game hasn't really suffered either. His strengths looks just as strong, which can only mean he's gotten better. Deserves his place in the team for sure.

I thought Ruel was amazing today. Played in the middle. Played well. No coincidence imo.

Still room for improvement in my personal view.

There must be some swapping around until we find a good match up front (including wingers). Soti scored 9 goals last season remember. Graham will replace either Theo or Soti on the wing and Piggot and Forde will share the striker role. Sorted. Sort of. Wouldn't bank on it, yesterday he couldn't beat an egg let alone a bang average fullback too slow going forward with the ball, no crosses he ends up running across pitch and gets rid of ball, useless player, Richie pulled him off, completely ineffectual. Theo was brill yesterday and scored a goal, your guy done jack s***

Still room for improvement in my personal view. For sure. But what he needs to focus on is consistency. On occasions he can be very good. But as we have seen all too often following a decent spell is a period of anonymity. Why Kj left him out and after a great burst when RW joined, he too started to leave him out. Bodes well that he has come back leaner and fitter this season and his mobility has improved. But he has stiff competition. Pigott and Forde will hog the central position and Graham and Theo the wide positions. Agyie to come back plus rumours of another forward coming in. Competition will be fierce. But it’s a squad game so everyone will get their chance.

It struck me that Graham did an excellent job with Idris protecting the left side and allowed James to figure in forward action more than he's been able to recently. He doesn't get past people the way Smyth can but, let's be honest, who else could?

We will get 90 minutes of a good player from him rather than bursts of a great player from Smyth, much of the time he was successfully marked, bullied out of the game. We’ve done well with Graham.

If you are rubbish all game and score the winner you are a hero. If you are rubbish all game and don’t score you are just rubbish.

We’ve waited a long time for Ruel to start to show the player we all thought he could be. Long may it continue. Don’t want him to drift into anonymity again. He’s on a role.
