Absolutely the correct decision. Play again, might win might lose might draw but anything can happen and rightly so.

Not sure how they could've made any other decision without opening a can of worms. Just have to go and beat them again. For us fans, we'll get another game to watch. For the club, it's a few more pennies in the piggy bank.

For the club, it's a few more pennies in the piggy bank. They shouldn't charge people who still have their tickets from the match. Food, beverages, programmes. But... Who is going to pay to the cost of running the stadium, fire brigade, polices, stewards - will the EFL pay/contribute? It wouldn't be fair for Orient to pay for all without compensation whether in the form of tickets sales or the EFL forfeiting some prawn sandwiches and helping get the fixture replayed. An idea maybe is tickets for £5 with the EFL paying the rest. The EFL have the money to pay for it.

Got to feel for the Lincoln fans who now have to take time off work, cost of another trip plus a possible overnight stay etc.

I can understand why some people believe this is correct decision but I don’t. There is no rule that says the game should be replayed in fact there is no rule at all unlike that that exists in most European leagues. As there is no rule the EFL could easily without repercussions have chosen a different option. In legal issues it is precedent through case law that decides a judgement and the are plenty of precedent by the EFL itself in not enforcing a full replay plus the European precedent of not doing full replays (we still seem to follow EU law in most things). I am also disappointed that Lincoln didn’t concede.

For the club, it's a few more pennies in the piggy bank. They shouldn't charge people who still have their tickets from the match. Season ticket holders won't be charged, but as for the rest... www.efl.com/ticketconditions/Where a Match is postponed after you have entered the Ground, but before the Match has kicked-off, entry to the Ground or any substitute Ground for the re-arranged Match shall only be permitted on presentation of the ticket and subject to compliance with any other requirements announced by the EFL at the time. In the event of the abandonment of a Match after kick-off you will be entitled to either (i) a sixty per cent (60%) refund where abandonment occurs before the start of the second half of the Match or (ii) a forty per cent (40%) refund where abandonment occurs after the start of the second half of the Match but before the final whistle. In these circumstances you would need to purchase a new Ticket if the Match was rearranged.

That's absolutely correct arrgee. The game must be replayed in full with everyone paying. Hopefully Lincoln will have a ton of injuries and Ritchie's boys will win handsomely

I think some people forget that you actually pay to see a football match whoever is playing. The supporters have seen a football match albeit 6 minutes short. Surely people (season ticket holders or not ) can't expect to get a freebie. Also season ticket holders pay much less for a game anyway

In other words, an abandoned match is replayed unless it isn't. This isn't a rule, it's placeholder text.

Probably the best we could hope for. It wouldn’t have surprised me if the EFL had made us forfeit the game.
