What a thoroughly entertaining game of football. Two good sides that were well organised. I'm thinking if we can perform like that against a good Barnsley side then why have we failed against poor sides (i.e. Fleetwood away). Anyway, that's the standard we've set ourselves now. If you offered me a point before the game, I would've taken it. Having watched the game, I'm still happy with it. Both teams had periods of pressure and created opportunities. I thought our defence did well to contain them. Shame about the time we gave their player to score their goal. I'm amazed at how Graham continues to get his 'decent' crosses in each time. We still struggle up front but we all know this and I'm only beating a worn drum here. Well done boys. Very good performance. I said earlier in this thread Graham’s crosses are wasted..

What's encouraging is that Barnsley are a good side at this level and we could/ should have won that. First half we made our own problems with some sloppy play. Second half Collins changed it and they looked more potent. The old Orient would have lost from 1-1. So a lot that's encouraging to take from the game even if we should have had 3 points.

We should've won that but I'll take it. The lads gave an excellent account of themselves against a very good team but still look like they can get better. Gonna be really interesting to see us play Portsmouth again in a couple of weeks. First time a pizza cup game has ever been interesting. No it won’t ,Pompey will put out a totally different team to their league side and Orient will make quite a few changes . Yeah you're probably right 🤷

I thought that today would really be a yardstick and show us where we are in the pecking order of things in this division.
There were times today that we were better, worse, and equal to Barnsley. Who are a very good side for this division.
Disappointed to not win having led but a draw is a good result.
A really entertaining game in a non-eventful kind of way. A tight and cagey affair.
For what it's worth I thought Pigott worked his knackers off and his lino up play and strength was great. Yeah he did balls it up sometimes but we can all be forgiven a few errors.
Some people in the crowd just don't like him though. Can't please some people.

Pigott was MOM in my hinble opinion.

I thought the tactics, discipline and shape that Barnsley showed at times was levels above what we've seen at Brisbane Road in a long time.
They didn't break shape, pressed us collectively, and it became a bit of a chess game at times. We did similar which impressed me.
Our movement and passing pulled them apart a few times but they know how to play football.
The penalty was fortunate but made them have to break shape which made it less cagey.

Overall a decent point and imho I thought Piggott had his best game for us so far I thought the penalty was harsh in realtime but on the highlights it was handball Good to see Ritchie so animated today and he went mad with our pass across the pitch to no one that lead to their goal

I think he's an excellent player and I'm asking the kids for his shirt as my Christmas present.

I thought yesterdays game was an excellent advert for league one football. We have literally nothing to fear in this league, this team is ready now to compete with anyone. I thought Piggott was superb and I was surprised he was brought off as his link up play was excellent and we lost everything g up front when Drinan came on, which was a wasted sun in my opinion. I thought Cooper was our best player, the guy is class and we need to sign him asap.
Really enjoyed he game and it’s looking really positive.

Jumping in on the Pigott discussion, l recall people being sad that we didn't get "too expensive" Bonne and were not impressed with Pigott's signing. Viewing only the streams (all of 'em) l contend that Pigott is better at everything compared to Bonne and he's doing it in EFL1 (not the NL). Barnsley's Cole came with a deserved stellar reputation yet achieved far less than Pigott. I'm a fan.

Great to see all the positive comments on here, especially about Jo Piggott. I reckon he and Ruel are developing into a good strike force and are starting to pick more balls up and get service from midfield and the wings. If they keep up this progress then we will start to score more often and make opposition teams more defensive.
I also agree that Cooper needs to be signed up. He's been good defensively since the start of his loan. He's now getting much better at distributing the ball forward. He's quicker than Beckles and, I think, stronger. The Cooper/Happe partnership is improving all the time.
Again we had a strong bench with variable options. The fact that Darren Pratley didn't have to kit up shows we're getting stronger as a squad.
I feel a bit sorry for Drinan. I think he's had his day at the Orient (16 goals by Christmas 2020. was it?). Maybe he should consider relaunching his career with a good National League side, or maybe even League Two. I appreciate his excellent work in the past, but now he looks a bit lost. Jo Piggott is relaunching his career after all.

I enjoyed the match and was very pleased with all the players efforts.Barnsley were as good as I expected them to be and we ran them ragged many times. So pleasing during our good phases of the match that Barnsley did not use bull boy tactics. Their fans behaved exceptionally well and had a good chat with some on the walk to Leyton station. They spoke very well of Orient and were very friendly. Two points lost or a point gained, hard to say as we all want to win,We seem to be in League 1 mode now, hope we can sustain that level. Now,if we had a tapper inner who knows what we might achieve in the third tier.

Pigott is doing very well for the O's,the penalty was scored with great aplomb.Shows what faith RW has in the lad by Joe being the penalty taker.
