Any news of his progress? The website (and the programme) used to have updates on injuries, which wouldn't be hard to include. Another thing missing from the website is player stats - as they're in the programme that would be equally simple to do.

The “ company line” on this is that Agyei’s injury is “ long term” and this was reiterated again in a recent pre match interview with RW. Initially it was stated that he could be out for up to five months and I’ve seen nothing since to revise that estimate. On that basis we should expect his return around about December/ January. It might be difficult for Agyei to get up to speed so I don’t buy the “ it will be like a new signing” school of thought tbh. I reckon he will be eased back in slowly and expectations ( both his and the fans!) managed carefully.

I look forward to seeing him play and January as we slowly march into Spring.Cannot stand the dark dismal days ahead. Edgar Allen Poe in his poem The Raven refers it to December dreary.

Quite apart from whatever the physical damage is, there's always the psychological component to deal with, sometimes that is the element which can end a glittering career.

I’m really looking forward to seeing him play. But perhaps a little cautious and not expecting too much too soon.
As Fisch has pointed out, the physiological damage can be there. And if memory serves we saw with Dale Gorman, never really the player we expected when returning from injury. I hope mentally he recovers fully too.
I’m also cautious about his goal scoring potential. Great last season in League 2 but in his years in league 1. 70 odd games and 10 goals. I don’t see him as the answer to our lack of goals. Will chip in no doubt and like Archibald and Graham, the potential to create opportunities.
Personally I don’t think we will see him at his best this season, maybe the tail end and even then if we are mid-table with not too much to play for, he will be carefully managed. Be like a great new signing next season.

Dohnut I liked him and thought he was bloody good when Crewe played us. I’m quite confident in his ability that’s for sure. Still can’t work out how a break can last five months though, if it’s an ankle absolutely but that’s never been said just his leg, seems strange with the radio silence on the matter. Hopefully he recovers well.
Still can’t wait for him to pull on the shirt and strut his stuff for us.

I thought it was his foot that he broke but i agree i don't think we've even been told how he did it would be nice to have a proper update from the club

I'm wondering how McKirdy is getting on. He was our first choice and, having seen him play against us for Swindon, I thought he was frighteningly good - then he was found to have a coronary problem and needed open heart surgery. I understood it would be a relatively (for heart surgery) uncomplicated procedure to un-kink an artery but I've heard nothing since.

I’m no heart surgeon, but the fact it’s your heart surely must mean a long time out with recovery? I am not sure I’d be rushing back anytime soon with such a defect. The stress for him must be intolerable, a professional athlete whose main job is to run around a lot under at times a stress load on the heart and lungs etc. that would play on you’re mind? I wish him well and a speedy recovery, but more importantly good health once more.

I do think if he can get up to speed sooner than later, then things could change significantly. He’s got the ability to score and his contributions could unlock the offense. The goals by themselves would be great.

Things can always change of course if injuries crop up elsewhere or,worse still, with Agyei himself.

Good to see him back. But no need to rush and risk aggravating. RW is far too smart for that. Come end January he will be getting to his best.

He looked good on Saturday and it bodes well once he is up to speed. The issue is after being out for so long soft tissue injuries are quite common and managing his work load and stress levels (not actual stress, muscle stress) will be important and as Red says above he will surely be eased back in over a few games.
I’m excited by his return. The saviour has cometh!
