Dohnut, not so. The offences is committed if you are offside when the ball is played to you regardless where you actually make contact, so the free kick should be taken at the point you are offside. Think that’s how it used to be, but not any more. Quite common to see players in an offside position let’s say, avoid any contact with or interference with play. The foul only happens when they do and if they have come back from an offside position into their own half to do so, the free kick will be in your half.
