So after tonight looks like Stevenage will be third and just 1 point off the league leaders. I'm afraid Steve Evans makes Richie look like an amateur. Lots of you on this forum predicted we would end up higher, fat chance ! Its incredible, they score goals !

Not I might add because I think they are poor. I’ve been impressed with their building from the start of last season. Evan’s has done a fantastic job. They ain’t a fancy team and all too often give the lions share of possession away. But they are very effective when they have the ball. I felt we would be above them because we have better players. still think we do in general. But we certainly don’t play to our potential.

Like I said last night take Reid out and they'd be near the bottom. I don't like their style, their patterns of play, the gamesmanship, their attitude. I'd rather watch the grass grow in my garden, probably not that much but you get the idea.
I did say we'd finish above them, I hope we still do although it's getting harder as we try to grind out results. We badly need a centre forward.

In the main I think we have. There are two or three of their squad I would welcome. Where they excel is their scoring from Limited possession. Still time to go but thus far and at home they enjoy just 22% of the ball, yet are 2-1 ahead. A familiar story. They are happy to concede possession but when in possession they know what to do. We focus on possession, controlling the game (really). We dick about endlessly, play backwards relentlessly even in good positions. Twice tonight our corners have ended up all the way back to Brynn. Thats not the players but the system.

We seemed to have literally listened but they were long balls which I'm not sure we are suited to play.

Dohnut says they've has 21% tonight that tells you everything about their style. They will run out of steam as you can't keep chasing the ball or a high percentage of the game every game, the players will be burnt out by Christmas, probably.

I sense our playing style is changing and a good thing too. Though we do waste so many long balls. But variation is fine and we won’t win them all. I’ve always felt we have players who are capable when playing forward.

Their possession stats all season show they are happy to let the opposition have the ball. Yet they keep doing well. If they continue to push on, burn out is less likely. Nothing like winning to give players energy. But ultimately it will take its toll. But I don’t like the style they play either. But for some it can be successful. I keep waiting for the Stevenage bubble to burst.
