It's probably to late into the season to get the players into a Boot camp. This because of fixtures. Iwonder if they would appreciate working for a change on a Construction site helping to build a Multi floor Accomodation Block. This in freezing temperatures lifting materials up stairs when the Site Lift is either in fault or the budget doesn't stretch to having one.Being told to be onside at 0700hrs in the morning. Listening to a daily site briefing. Everyone to wear full PPE including a Hard hat and steel reinforced boots. 30 minutes for midday break, Working to finish at 1500hrs at the minimum.

The following applies to them They have a squad of 24 2 players are on 4k a week with the rest earn between 2-4k. There are two players on loan from Premiership clubs loan runs out in May2024. Their manager was shrewd in the summer with his additions to build a solid squad to challenge for promotion. They also have an Academy. It was a tough ask to go to them on Sunday. Also their ground holds 10,000 plus. |

Cookie is also one tough manager who takes no nonsense, you are either on the bus or out the door. His methods are old school to a degree, can be effective, but he loses players along the way due to his approach. He certainly had a lot of ex players whom won't be sending him a Xmas card!!

I always remind myself we are a third division team and play as a third division team.If our players were always at the top of their form they would not be with us.When it goes well we play as good as any Championship team.If both teams play at their best it is a great game although the result may not please.But we don't and sometimes win because the opposition are not at their best.
This is a tough league and we must remember how many seasons it took the really big boys to get promotion then struggle for a while in the Championship.

Perhaps they should be whisked off to a hotel for a boot-camp. Away from family. A time for thinking and reflection. Didn’t work last time though. |
