For me to get really into the Christmas Spirit I gotta Believe Santa Exists, and I don't mean him pigging the Mince Pies after a daliance with a female in the household. 4 things need to happen. 1 Santa gotta appear in his sleigh outside my mansion 2 Hear song White Christmas by the "Old Crooner" himself 3 Hear song by the Poges Fairy Tale of New York 4 See the Coke Cola advert on tv, ps cheated few years ago the lorry was in Wickford so snuk over there to see it for real.
Well Billeys Dicky Round Table just dragged him and Rudolph around, (got an invite for family to pop round for mince pies and tea). So three left. What needs to happen for you to get into the spirit

A few years ago a neighbour 2 doors down after hearing from another friend that I wasn't gonna bother doing a Christmas dinner knocked on my door on the day and presented me with the full works on a huge plate. He's since moved so that wont be happening again, but that got me in the Christmas spirit alright. Nice story, yeah.

Well for me the Christmas songs start, that gets me going and this year Iāve set myself a new purpose to have the best Christmas ever as Iāve never celebrated this one before, by that Iāve just had my birthday just over a week ago and whilst a few are behind me this one is new so Iām gonna celebrate it like never before! I did it with my birthday which was on a Friday so I celebrated from Thursday night after football training a few beers, out Friday afternoon till evening, all day Saturday and a chilled out day Sunday, proper celebrated it and thatās what Iām intending to do this year, proper enjoy it, proper celebrations.
My mate and his wife foster children, so when the Christmas tree was put up and the lights etc turned on I took the young boy with me and my wife to watch the lights get switched on. They couldnāt do it as his sister had gymnastics. I made sure he had a good time, everything we got him we bought the same for his sister, the people next to us won two raffle prizes and with the third they said to their kids give it to the little boy, he said thank you and turned to me and said Iām going to give this as a Christmas present to my foster parents, I had a lump in my throat when he said that. I had already thanked the mum and dad and told them what he said and why and they were welled up by it. Heās getting an Orient kit from us for Christmas and both him and his sister will be at the Charlton game with us, which will be his third of the season having never seen a football match in his 7 year life.
Christmas is gonna be good this year, Iām gonna make sure it is.

Lovely to hear that Thor. My version involves rescue cats so not so Christmassy and the little buggers show no appreciation for anything.

I like Christmas. Family dinner. Opening gifts which usually include silly ones. Quiz, games etc. People just seem more friendly everywhere.
Thought last Christmas would be the final one for our Labrador but she keeps going and hopefully she will make this one too, she has her good and bad days (donāt we all). A bonus. A chat with family in Australia. Spent Christmas there a few years ago, hot beach walks etc. just not the same.
Having a week in Tenerife for a bit of winter warmth. Family in my house dog sitting, so set in her ways we keep change to a minimum.
And after my Cancer scare and operation last 5th November, I enjoy every day. This Christmas I wonāt be in recovery mode.

Love the spirit that is around at Christmas propels one to a sometimes regretted generosity because of the waste.Love the Christian message and early carols,a firm favourite Oh come oh come Emanuel. Find it a bit odd that all the carols I hear on Classic FM are by professional singers and choirs. They never play children singing carols as was heard a few years back. Even those hard hearted bosses in the construction industry crumble to the seasonal joy and spend money on a decent night out, sometimes with an overnight stay all on the house.Come January 3rd or 4th you have to pay for their generosity.

I had Christmas lunch today with a bunch of friends and I even ate my Brussels Sprouts. I hated them as a child and used to mash them up with the roast potatoes, other vegetables and gravy to disguise the flavour but ate them as my Mum told me they were good for me. But this was the first year I ate them au naturale.
Now I have a case of the wind and canāt even blame the dog this time.
