Rumour doing the rounds in the supporters club pre-match that the club are desperately trying to move him.on before next season. This is because his contract has a clause in that if we were a L1 club going into the final year of his contract then he's in for a hefty pay increase.
Probably b*******, but if true it will be even harder to move him on if he knows he can get a big whack for staying put for another year.

Irrespective of the name of the player it cannot be correct that :
1. His contract details are open to speculation and discussion
2. Lofc would destroy their reputation in that they would encourage public speculation on their desire not to honour a players contract
3. Lofc would have not much integrity as an employer if it was true and any further prospective player yet to sign would doubt lofc integrity.
I don’t believe this is true
Nigel has previously emphasised how as an employer they try to treat players well ie paid their salary in full re covid when other clubs may not of done that.

I hadn’t heard any specific rumours related to contractual details but it’s perfectly possible . |

Shouldn’t we be talking about how he looked fit and good on the ball.
Whatever issues have kept him on the sidelines, a ready to go GM is what we need right now.

Moncur is one of our best players i always prefer him in the team.He can hold the ball and play the right pass.He has real quality but i do believe he has an underlining injury issue that resticts his ability to get into tip top condition but I like him as a player

I'm not his biggest fan, but I felt for him yesterday. He actually had a fairly decent game before having to be sacrificed due to the red card.

Totally agree eca. I personally don’t believe Orient would in any way release or even hint at such matters under the current ownership. Nor do I believe Teague would for example comment on the pending sacking of someone in the bar. They and the club these days have far more integrity. its just speculation put out by people in general conversation with nothing to back it up. Hearsay with no basis in fact. |

I'd like to add to the positives concerning George's performance yesterday. He played well, he kept the ball well, rotated it well and we looked better for it. Taking him off was the right call under the circumstances and I hope this is the start of his re-emergence back into the team.

(I asked myself that question when I saw the line-up) Takes us back to the likes of Connor Wood perhaps? Sidelined for long periods under Jackett & Wellens, with an occasional appearance thrown in. In GM’s case it just seems to me he is not given a fair shake. Maybe it’s all down to his fitness ( but then why is he included in the squad?), I don’t believe it’s a lack of ability. As said by others on here if he’s ready to go he should be able to provide the sort of spark we need at the mo. |

When one watches GM holding shielding the ball passing directly to his own team efficiently with BOTH feet I get very perplexed for his continuous omission- compare this evidence with some other players who cannot do that so reliably or players that unfortunately miss pass more often than him
If he was or is that unfit why is he been picked every week on the bench and most weeks not even used as a sub or assisted to get match fit by used as a sub EVERY week
The logic does not stand up.
I believe in RW but in this player they should come clean and explain their selection strategy to DD in an interview so we all can appreciate why

There's no doubting GM has great ball control for L1 standard, however I don't believe he does enough.
A player in George's position I would want to receive the ball on the turn and drive forward to play a through ball or take a shot on - like Maddison at Spurs. What I see George do too often is receive the ball (not on the turn) and lay it off backwards. That's not linking our defensive play with our attacking play. It's this link which I feel is causing our lacking up front, not solely the cause but a big piece.
He has the ball control to turn and keep it close as he dribbles so I'm at a loss to why he doesn't do it. I can only speculate it's due to his knees (protecting his tendonitis) not allowing him to do it. Whatever the reason for it it still leaves that position void of that need.
I've nothing against George, it's just my opinion.
