If you’re basing that on last nights Sky to game with Bolton then, speaking personally, the most obvious stand outs were the level of ( fair) aggression and general tempo of play. Take your point re corners though. |

Portsmouth have not been out of the top three divisions in my lifetime as far as i can remember.We on the other hand have just recently come out of the national league Portsmouth are historically a top flight to championship team.We are doing ok things take time look at Charlton for example they are in a similar league position to us.Give it time and enjoy being in a decent league playing decent teams

Look at Stevenage. Isthmian league 30 years ago, even lower than that going back further. Little history at all in the EFL. Us, I can remember league games against Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool etc in the top flight. I’d guess Stevenage are enjoying life far more than us at the moment and I’d be surprised if they have a mega budget. I’m hugely happy we are in league 1, playing some really decent teams. But I’d be a bloody sight happier if I didn’t spend increasing amounts of time looking at how the teams below us are doing. Worrying that our time in league 1 may be short. Can’t remember when we last won a league game. 2 months? Relegation form for sure. History is just that, history. What matters is the here and now, this season. The joys of last season are wonderful but mean nothing in terms of this seasons success. A happy memory, great experience, joy. But not something we can live on now. Saturday has all of a sudden become massively important. |

I wouldn’t dream of comparing their history with ours they were a top flight team in the years I first started coming to the orient in 1950 and had England internationals,I was comparing their corner count.
