Barnet signed him from Peterborough, contract ends in June. Decent player. On £1700 a week at posh but took a drop to get regular football. If we do recruit in January and look at lower league players, could do a job. Plays out wide left though wiki has him as a right winger. Wingback too Aggressive runner, tricky on the ball.

Sounds someone as you say could do a job. Unfortunately he is young and hopefully fit and eager. Unless he has a hidden medical history and likely to break down in training or a game he will not fit in at the O's. 🤠

He knows how to mix it.

Then the moaning starts he is not at League 1 level. We cannot sign everyone at the drop of a hat. People need to get this fixation about League 1 out of their heads imo. It should be about seeing a players ability, his background playing history, where he learnt his trade. Agood scout can see this. Even if you can't be bothered to go to a game these days, there is plenty of live football to watch of the National league standard. O's came unstuck at Chesterfield recently. Look at their line up, players with Championship experience and EFL game time. Chesterfield allegedly paying top dollar in the National league. People can scoff but Bromley, Sheppey and Ramsgate all recently televised games. Some niave game planning by Ramsgate, but I watched this game and they had an 18 year old winger who looked useful. Even Sheppey had a goalkeeper who had been at Charlton previously as a youngster but was released.

Probably the best scouts in lower league football are Peterborough. So many scouts about looking at players,we have been lucky with quite a few but the failures are a liability if the club is not cash rich.So difficult for all concerned and they do see things different from how we see it. Thor is the best one on this forum to recognise this.I worked alongside someone whose son was in the West Ham academy and he said how much he learned about football from this despite being a season ticket holder at Arsenal.Sadly his son did not make it and dropped out of football. Have a look at what the coach or how others etc do when a player is subbed on,always shown diagrams and whatever they show to the positions they have to get to and then lose the match.

Some Decent players on show at Barnet vs Newport County. Kanu stood out as a NL player. Of course he was let go by Peterborough, of course he was against a L2 side. But I was impressed. Runs at players, takes them on, makes things happen and has a decent shot on him. Also very strong and stood up to challenges well. His temperament could be questioned, wants to get too involved in the aggro. Though to be fair, County hacked him down quite a lot, he was a threat and got the Smyth treatment. But unlike Smyth, he got up, gave as good as he got and was still fighting despite being 4-1 down.
I doubt in January our budget will stretch to bringing in an experienced, solid player. Even if they are available. Massive difference between what we want, how much they cost and even who is available. If we do recruit then the NL offer opportunities. Thereby is the quality of our scouts measured.
But at 24, he would be on my list of players worth a closer look. Especially with Graham out.

This post demonstrates a reasoned objective approach to support the merits of this player. There is those that will argue it is subjective but I discount their argument. I decided to post a question on the Martin Ling question forum against my better judgement. This time I feel will be massaged to give the DoF an easy ride over 60 minutes. My post concerns Scouting activity by the O's. Another post highlights the success of the Posh in recruiting from lower leagues. This is not surprising when from the Posh official website they list 7 x Area managers and 71 or so Official Scouts.
