Was it a football table where if they got a question right they had a go at scoring a goal?

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p02mbcy7/quiz-ball-22121966I got most of it right but I can see in my head a perspex surrounding stadium type thing on a table. Maybe that was Question of Sport in the early days because I can see a monochrome David Coleman in my head. I liked Quizball, it could be a ready replacement for Question of Sport. I think the O's might've been on it.

QoS was appalling recently and I have no problem with the Bolton lad but his selection to host it was entirely inappropriate and understandably it lost all it's appeal. It was practically a national institution and who could forget the likes of Beaumont, Willie Carson and the squeaky Emlyn Hughes let alone the Sue Barker era - all characters but there was always a competitive edge. I even remember the original pilot hosted by Stuart Hall in the 60s and even he managed to inject a bit of gravitas as well as humour. I'll miss it, but I suspect it may re-emerge at some point as the format is great in it's simplicity.

I'd like to have seen Mr Bean as the host, now that would've been hilarious. That'll be in yer head for while.
