A mate attended and reckons (guess) the gate was about 15,000 people. Brisbane Road is too small for the number of lady gooner fans.

Anyone know what their usual crowd is for a regular game at Brisbane Road?

Anyone know what their usual crowd is for a regular game at Brisbane Road? Fairly close to sod all usually. It was about 2,000 last week against Man Utd but I suspect they were 90% away supporters. It looks like the business case for the pitch is not working out very well. At least one of the O's women train at the Spurs training centre, dead plush it is too.

Normally around 1200. They give out loads of comps but not many used. There were 1000 Man U at the recent match

'It looks like the business case for the pitch is not working out very well.' Surely it was part paid for by Tottenham? - so if Tottenham don't use it they lose out rather than us.

Tottenham women's side had a disastrous season last year, nearly getting relegated. They've brought in a new manager and some new players and are trying to rebuild, with decent success so far this season. It's still a work in progress, as they are mid-table at the moment. They don't have the fanbase built up that Chelsea and Arsenal do, but I think the hope is that by hosting some of the bigger derbies at White Hart Lane, they can entice some Tottenham supporters to check out another match at Brisbane Road. Won't happen overnight, but it takes some time and effort to grow a fanbase, which Tottenham have had a spotty history of on the women's side.
In turn, this will trickle down to higher attendances at Brisbane Road, which then benefits Leyton Orient financially. I believe Mark Devlin said on one of the podcasts or perhaps at one of the fan Q&As that the terms of the agreement with Tottenham is that all food and drink sales from the matches go to Leyton Orient. Not sure about ticket revenue.

I think a lot of it was grant funded.
