Our win today concludes the first half of the 2023/24 season.
How do we feel it's going?
The owners stated the aim for this season is league 1 status and a (FA) Cup run. Having the opening several fixtures severely impacted by injuries, we got off to a poor start. Overall, I think it's got okay. I'll be happy with league 1 status and rebuild for the next campaign.

I'll post up some stats later after I've updated today's results, had a beer and a relax.

I'm very relaxed where we are, I'm happy and we could be better and higher in the table with a bit more composure or better decision making. We are on our way and it's onwards and upwards.
Ritchie will deliver with the right backing, of that I've never been more convinced.

Ritchie will deliver with the right backing, of that I've never been more convinced. Pretty much my sentiments. Given our squad, we will drift between about 10th and 18th depending on the run of fixtures and who we have available. Likely finishing about 16th. Who knows what will happen in January. If we can make significant changes we could climb higher than 16th, if we make one or two changes then maybe a 12th or 14th finish. Personally I'd rather we keep our powder dry afor the summer and try to consolidate this season. However I do feel we need to be better going forward. Which is obvious.

A very good position gained. I agree that we don't need to spend in January. I think we've got an excellent squad with some players held in reserve who could really boost things second half of the season; Saunders, Moncur, Agyei and Turns come to mind. Goals are a bit lacking but the defences and goalies are a damn sight better than last year. We've got five in three games, four against.
Feeling good. Well done Richie and co.

Considering our injuries I'm happy, well, getting there, although I'm still a bit fixated with the bottom lot. Not so happy with the 'goals for' column.
Most of our games this season have been close affairs and that gives me optimism that we can compete with most, if not all, of the teams in this league.
I'll be even happier if we end up above Charlton.

There are some good teams in this division Bolton , Portsmouth, Derby and Barnsley in particular. Also some expected teams (unexpected to me anyway) like Stevenage and even Lincoln doing well. I expected us to be very close to the bottom this year by Christmas, so happy so far. I like Martin Lings description of three blocks of eight in this division, if we maintain and end up in the middle eight I will be satisfied. Basically "no complaints" and really the matches are usually enjoyable to watch. Lets be realistic, we are not ready for the Championship so lets have a good enjoyable mid season.

I don’t really want to see any hasty signings or panic signings in January. I would rather wait until summer and pick up players that want to come here and play for Orient and Richie .

I think the fanbase as a whole got too excited about our form over the season's easiest run of games, which inevitably led to a wave of pessimism when we had to face some tougher teams and faltered.
It's easy to have a moan when that happens, so I think it's worth saying how proud I am of all the lads for stepping up to this level.
I don't see us climbing any higher up the table from here onward, but I predicted we'd finish 18th, so no complaints. I'll be happy just to see the young players progress and Richie keep improving as a manager.

I haven’t seen so many games recently (some unfriendly kickoff times once the clocks change), but we seem to have stabilised in the last few months, and have been knocking about between 12th and 16th.
The club have said we have a middle 8 budget and that is the expectation. I’m sure we’d all like to be in the top of the middle 8, not the bottom, and maybe we would be without injuries to a couple of our key off-season signings, but overall I think we’re more or less in line with what we can reasonably expect.
Honestly, any season that sees us stay up this year would be a successful one in my book, as long as we look like a team that will develop in the future. If we can do that without constantly looking over our shoulder, all the better.

I must admit I’d initially hoped we would be pushing toward a top eight spot by now but in fairness the momentum from last season wasn’t really carried over due to pre season injuries and a sluggish start, so I think the current league table accurately reflects where we are as a team. In summary I’d say the the squad is a “ work in progress” but has most of the fundamentals in place. Personally I doubt that there will be many’s “ins and outs” during January but - if possible- I would like to see one or two brought in on a permanent basis to avoid too much reliance on loan players in key positions and some of the fringe players who Richie clearly doesn’t fancy moved along. Up the O’s!

To me it looks like a top 7 and the rest. I’d be happy if we finished with 56pts and safe with 4 or 5 games to go. We had a tough start with injuries and a lot of players who struggled to adapt to League 1, but the signs are there that some of the squad are getting to that level. We’ve got a great manager, great owners, I’ve never been more confident that this club is on its way back to the Championship.

Very pleased with how we have at last have adjusted to League 1 level.Important players being eased back in after serious injuries and others picking up as to what is needed. The management know where we are a little weak and with that in mind are doing a good job.Hoping for one or two new arrivals to boost our chances.which look pretty good. A cup run would have helped the coffers but we have the small mercy of a decent break and further time for matchday scrapes to heal.6.5/10

We had a very difficult start due to the horrendous injuries. A good Sept & Oct, then a poor Nov. Scoring goals has been our major problem, but with 6 wins and 6 draws needed to stay up, I'm hopeful that's achievable and our pre season aims will have been met

For myself I shall be more than happy if we stay clear of the relegation zone and manage around 50 points or so by the end of the season.
