Interesting he didn't see them as a threat pre game, just at set plays and was worried by having too many ball players on the pitch at once.

I mean, he wasn’t wrong, that’s pretty much the only time they did threaten.

If we're leggy tonight then how are we going to be in three days time, and considering Cambridge had a night off. Even less rotation available now too with Hunt and Ruel's injuries. Oh well. If we can get the three points then we'll have a Saturday off which sounds like it's needed.

Another refreshingly frank interview from the gaffer.
Mind you the line about being 'in transition' is a euphemism. All football teams are constantly 'in transition'. This interview is the clearest exposition yet that the squad is not deep enough at this level.
But also some expectations management about the transfer window. Richie explains the quandary. Do you bolster defensive capacity and hope for some 1-0s or do you try and score more goals?

May well be reading too much into his comment, but possibly for the first time he distanced himself from any pending transfer activity. May well be that he's been questioned on this before so fed up with being asked again, or could be a stance of 'nothing to do with me if the fans aren't happy with what pans out'.

Incoming or not, I still believe we have a squad good enough for a mid-table finish. It’s is a step up from league 2 for sure but having said that I’ve not seen too many teams who stand out head and shoulders above us.
The way I see it is that it’s not a question of how good or bad we are, but how we compare to other league 1 sides. And overall we compare to others reasonably well. But we just lack an edge at the moment. Could very easily have taken 6 points off Wycombe, we got 1. A few other games, we’ve managed to lose points when we should not have. But that is part of the learning curve when making a step up and playing teams who have seen it all before. The squad and manager are good enough to adapt to league 1. And we will.
But we will suffer some frustrations along the way.

But we will suffer some frustrations along the way. As long as we don't suffer from injuries in attack or defence then I agree that we should be OK. But for example if Happe or Beckles get injured then we only have Turns to rely on(as Cooper will no doubt return to Swansea). Also if Theo gets injured, we have no one to stand in.

We were desperate a couple of weeks ago and now less so and I'm guessing the board have re-appraised the direction and budget for the rest of the season.

That being the case, it was more a question of numbers rather than quality as only the numbers have changed.
