After a difficult run in November (I didn't think it was too bad) there is now a good momentum to push into 2023. The squad (not just the team) seems good to go, to me. Great result today. I couldn't get a ticket

Only Peterborough (11) and Bolton (12) have picked up more points than us (10) in the last 5 games.

Pleased with that. Listened to the audio while cooking a salmon wellington.
Didn't sound like Cambridge were up to much.
Scored 2. Hit the frame 4 times was it?
Well done O's 🙂

Great win by the O’s and well deserved. By weird circumstances I watched the match with the Cambridge commentary. It was truly dreadful, the commentators couldn’t get the players names right, whether it was a kick or a header, couldn’t tell the difference between a player down in the area or in the middle of the pitch . It was like listening to a joke commentary.

I've not travelled with the Os for many years but our group rarely went to Cambridge because of the all-round boredom of the event and a 0-0 being the best result we could expect. Playing away to Bolton would give the players a real impetus to perform well, at Cambridge.... not so much. I ain't going for simple reason it's a nailed on dead cert home win, plus got man flu, I will juggle the reason for non attendance at final whistle and result Just shows you how wrong you can be!

My take on today's game from watching the stream was - first half continual kicking it high and long and getting nowhere - second half kept it on the floor, neat interpassing and Cambridge didn't know what hit them. Liked the lineup and formation today, everyone looked comfortable with it as well. 👍

My take is that we had more than one guy on the pitch willing to take a man on and that created space for us and panic for them. Plus they were terrible.

I enjoyed that match but not the 90 minute walk back to the car in rain. Cambridge were poor. We targeted them down our left with Theo working his nuts off, as usual. Agyei was impressive. He was a threat to them and we lost that when he went off. I like the way he tries to bring the ball down and dribble with it. He's been a real miss till now. His goal showed real tenacity. Forde was missing the final result today but he worked his socks off. Running the flank and nicking a ball here and there. Becks and Happe looked assured in defense. A fantastic three points and a great way to start the year.
I'm pleased we don't have a game this weekend as it'll allow some rest for the team and hopefully Drinan, Ruel and Agyei (he went off injured) can recover some.
I'm learning towards the thought of saving our January budget for summer spending.
As others have mentioned, our yellow cards for kicking the ball away are disappointing. For Galbraith's yellow, where he kicked the ball out of the stadium, I'm not sure he meant to do that. I think he was simply trying to kick the back to the touchline for the throw in to take place. He was lying in the floor as he hooked it back and skyed it. Anyway, resulted in a yellow.
Finally, the loud youth were great. Doing Orient proud.

First half too long, too many over hit, not sure what they've done to their pitch but behind the goal we were at there was 20/25 yards to the goal line. Second half especially the first twenty we ripped them apart and why was that? The passes shortened, the speed of pass quickened and we looked good finally. Defensively we looked good, like last year with more control over that area of the pitch. This was a decent points return over the crimpo period and a good reference point to build on. Less long balls please and more to feet and we will be well away. A great start to 2024. The fans today were superb, and the banter with Prats and Monks was superb as they were warming up.

Other than that he was a passenger today, which didn't affect us at all with Galbraith covering up nicely.

I don't think Dan A went off injured as he looked shattered to me about 5/10 mins earlier. Sitting down just wastes time, we do sit down a lot when we want to make changes something I've noticed this season.

Yes, it wasn't Forde's day. However, credit to him for the running he did. It was similar to how some feel towards Ruel, can often run into trouble but always works his socks off. Forde worked hard today as does Ruel. As we got the win and he worked hard, I'll praise him.
Let's hope Agyei isn't injured and it was a time wasting exercise. It really did feel like if a Cambridge defender slipped up in the slightest then Agyei would punish them.
