.........about this board that could be improved ( hopefully)
1/ When ive made a post, I would like to be able to preview it before i send it, but I cant. Is that just me, or does everyone find the same thing
2/ When i look at this board on my mobile ( Android ), i cant immediately go to the last, most recent post. I have to go to the first post, and then work my way to the last page, and then scroll to the bottom, and finally get to the last, most recent post. Again, is that just me, or does everyone find the same thing? As there isnt an app, i use a browser .
it would be great if there was an app, rather than having to view the site through a browser.
If some of you could respond to this i would be grateful. Thanks

The functionality of this forum feels very dated but sadly I think that's got more to do with the platform Mungo's using. Presumably it's a free service (I think it's proboards) and I don't think any of those improvements are possible without migrating to a paid-for platform.

The lack of a preview isn't something about which I'd be concerned however I do agree that posts within the threads are upside down. The threads are presented 'latest on top' but the posts are not. Reversing that would overcome a bunch of unnecessary screen poking.
This isn't a free platform as we pay for advert-free boarding. Mungo makes a post from time to time asking for donors, it seems to work well

It's still limited to the functionality of a free product. My broader point is that I don't think there's anything Mungo can do unless a) he knows how to code and has access to this board's backend, or b) we're willing to ditch this board (and possibly it's content) to migrate to a better (likely more expensive) platform. I'll also add that a lot of users on this board don't seem to be aware of the functions it does offer. Yes, you can edit (and delete) posts -- you don't need to reply to your post with a correction. You can also message individual users -- you don't need to start a new post just to ask Mungo if he can pin something, etc. |

i would be wary of ditching a board as my experience is 90% of the users don’t migrate. And it takes a long time for google searches to pick up the new boards. There are a couple of forums I administer and moderate that have seen users decline significantly since Google screwed up the direct links. Forums on the whole are not used too much nowadays with many preferring Facebook and X. FWIW, I would let this sleeping dog lie. |

If some of you could respond to this i would be grateful. Thanks Up the O's I'm on android and it's lists the threads in order of the last post made, so the most recent is at the top. I click the new marker next to that thread and it takes me to the next message I've not read or seen. Don't click the thread title or you have to scroll through all the messages. I don't need to search or move anything it's all in order and I've done nothing to make that happen either. At the very bottom of the page make sure you are on the mobile version rather than the desktop as it's better to use and work with. |
