The lads worked their socks off but were undone by a late bit of hoofball. On that evidence the only team we need to fear for the rest of the season is Stevenage. Sad to say that there are still massive questions over Brynn's control of his box, although we may well've been a few down without him. Could've lost that by 4 or 5 tbh. Hate to say it, but Piggot coming on really makes you appreciate Ruel. It wasn’t really just hoofball dub, they played us off the park in the second half. They certainly deserved their win Yeah they did, but literally both goals came from long balls into the box that we failed to deal with.

Can we stop all the games now please and take the points? Sage losing at Port Vale Oxford, Stevenage and Barnsley all losing. Gap to 6th down to 4 points at the moment. Dare to dream? Bit of a wake up call at the end 😭

Did losing Happe make a difference. Didn’t see the game but losing to two high balls in the box suggests we missed his height.

Just came up short after a good effort unfortunately. 🙁

No shame in that result and we gave them a run for 88 minutes. A tough game out of the way. Hope Happe is Ok. Already lost Beckles for a game. Bit thin in the CB area with 2 games a week coming up.

Also struggling up front From what I read, Piggot is a major disappointment. Shame, I really rated him a few years ago. Was pleased when we signed him but clearly not the player he was and we have him for 2 years. Ruel is scoring again which is good. Forde is a handful and ONeill has potential. Hope Theo is back soon. But thin is about right.

Forde certainly wasn’t a handful today..He had a poor game..Couldn’t pass, couldn’t hold on to the ball then losing the ball easily, when he wasn’t falling over his own feet..O’Neil was ok but was struggling near the end and fouling

I thought O'Neill looked very good. Let's not forget it was his first start at this level and it was away against one of the best teams in the league.

I thought O'Neil tried hard but is a bit lightweight and never did run at the defence and so was a part of a toothless attack. He got a bit reckless at the end and was heading to red card territory. A tough baptism for the lad but he looked like he's still quite a way from being ready for EFL1 football.

Really disappointed in the end but this team has performed wonders since Christmas.Injuries are now really mounting up hopefully Happe and Ruel aren't too bad.Nothing to the ashamed of losing away to barnsley and if we can win our next two home games we will still be in the mix.Proud of RW and the team

Am l permitted to be much encouraged? RW said post match "Not brave enough, we were 1-1 at Barnsley and they were down to ten men - and we're playing long...."
The man has the know-how and the vision. Our lot can play it around at the back and force the opposition to press high - that leaves space all over the pitch for us to attack with venom and at pace. We didn't do that, we lost our bottle.
Special shout out for Galbraith, head and shoulders the best we had.

Ritchie is brutal and honest in his summing up of the game, eventually outgunned by a better team, with us lacking in know-how, they hounded us down. Nothing to be ashamed of we will learn from this, The squad is light for theses tough games, however it will eventually come up to strength to battle with the big boys.

We've come such a long way.
Barnsley are by far the best team I've seen this season who have strength, depth and knowledge how all over the pitch.
Let us not be disappointed despite losing it in the last ten minutes. This time last year we were playing Crawley and Sutton.
I didn't watch a single kick today so can't comment on the game. Just the season overall.

I never watched it either due to a dodgy firestick not working 🤔
Just watched the goals on tv and despite Brynn being man of the match according to the ' other message board ' , he was way out of it for their equaliser ☹️

I watched the whole game, Sol saved our bacon on numerous occasions but everything fell apart at the end. Barnsley should've been 2 or 3 up by then.
