Its obvious he is lacking confidence at the moment. I wonder if the goal he scored against Lincoln had turned out to be the winner his season may have panned out a bit differently.

It’s obvious he is lacking confidence at the moment. And unlikely to be helped by the ridiculous over exaggeration by some “ fans” as illustrated on this thread.😕

He is a good player he has just been out of form since he joined. That’s it. No more to be said, nothings going to change by you sharing your opinions and trying to outdo each other in new ways of saying “ergh he’s crap” Sorry, but he isnt a good player....far from it im sorry to say. I'd be interested to know why you think he is a good player actually. What have you seen in him that I ( and the rest) have missed. Genuine question

He's actually a tidy player except for his finishing. Whether that's down to confidence, fitness or playing above his level remains to be seen.
However the thing that worries me is that Saturday is the first time I have seen him come on and put little to no effort in. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but on that football pitch. Maybe the two misses against Carlisle have shot whatever confidence he had left to pieces - who knows?

Genuine question When you look at his stats in league 1 they suggest that at one time and not too long ago he was in fact a very good player and that is statistically beyond dispute. If you fancy disputing that then look up his history and explain why. 1 in 3 ratio in league 1 is special by any standards. What we have is a decent league 1 forward with a record better than many having a really tough time over the past couple of seasons, the reasons for which we don’t know. His talent has departed him for now. But it’s wrong to rubbish his pedigree. His quality is there to see in the stats.

Pigott is not as bad a player as some on here are making him out to be.Hes not an out and out striker and RW said from the outset that he's more of a number 10.ehen he plays some of his link up play is very good and he can pick a pass really well.I personally wouldn't write him off yet and with our preferred attacking options next season of Agyei Graham and Theo i can see him playing in behind and adding something to the team.Of course i could be way off

Usually your posts are full of common sense and are very good, this is nonsense. Going on about Pigotts stats from a few years ago, is pointless. Who cares if he scored 1000 goals before he came to us.... It's how he performs now, whilst he's here that I'm concerned about. Years ago I was able to run 100 meters in 11 seconds, now I can hardly walk some days. It's now that counts He offers absolutely nothing, zilch. It's not only that he can't score, he can't trap a ball, control a ball, for a fairly big man, he gets knocked off the ball ridiculously easy. He has no pace, he offers nowt. You say I've rubbished his pedigree.... No I haven't, I'm just not interested in his pedigree. For reasons I've outlined above, in the here & now, he offers nothing at all

I see a player short of confidence and struggling to get used to our system. He needs support or he needs to go somewhere he is better suited.

Good at holding up the ball, passing, pressuring defenders and gets into great positions. He just can't put them away. He should have had at least seven more goals when I've been watching, and that's only the home games. It's a shame, I think he's a clever player who positions himself well and can play a great pass. He seems to fluff it at the last minute. I'd definitely keep him on the books because if he does start scoring regularly he'll be a massive asset.

For reasons I've outlined above, in the here & now, he offers nothing at all The point is the he is a good player going through a bad patch. I was delighted when he signed and hugely disappointed about his current form. It s not uncommon. And we don’t know why, perhaps issues outside the game. Smyth has scored 2 in 25 appearances for QPR, has he suddenly become a bad player? I’m sure if I put my mind to it I could dig out other examples of good players having a bad time. Dan Agyie scored 9 goals (including penalties) in 75 league 1 games before joining us, Was he a bad league 1 player. Even Ruel has gone on barren runs in front of goal. Class is permanent, form is temporary. His pedigree shows his class over several season. What we need to be doing is hoping for is him regaining some confidence. Failing that moving to a club that plays a style better suited to his game. Something Smith, Kelman, Drinan have found and as Ruel when played in a position that doesn’t best suit his game.

Agree with Doh and if anyone wants an example of a good player who went on a barren spell with us, look no further than Jamie Cureton.

A latter-day Mickey Bullock 65 goals in 277 appearances. Jo's got a chance then.

Now there is a player that I thought was a great signing but can’t recall him scoring for us. Though stats say 1 in 19. Yet he did everywhere else both before and after his time at Brisbane Rid. His scoring ratio remains phenomenal. A really weird thing.
