The players showed great character and determination especially after going one down away from home against a perceived rival. The first 15 odd minutes after going a goal down we were awful. Thought Oxford were going to have an easy afternoon. But we had a great period in the 10 or so minutes before half time and confidence came back. Credit for that mostly down to Forde and ONeill (MOTM) and Moncur. With some spirited aggression from Pratley. Galbraith worth a mention too. When we go for it we are quite good. A match for any team in league 1. A great effort and a great result. Don’t know whether to laugh at a great 3 points or to cry at the points we just slung away against a really poor Burton team. Who in incidentally lost at home to Northampton.

I've avoided coming on here for the most part of the last two weeks. Even when we won last Tuesday but got beat last Saturday. Needed a rest.
We're a very young team. We're getting better match by match and it's a joy to watch these young players learn.
There will be times of inconsistency like v Burton where we lack of a bit of know how. And losing to Barnsley in the last 5 minutes. But there will also be times like today where we go and get a great result against a very good Oxford team that have been up the top for the last 3 or 4 years.
This team, next year, with a further year of guidance and experience, League One summer signings, our actual front three back from very long term and serious injuries all bodes well.
We're already a well run club and others are taking notice of that. We're also becoming a really really good team and that isn't going unnoticed either. This will attract players that maybe financially we can't compete with.
I have a stirring in the loins.

Assuming RW gets the additions he wants, next season our squad will have the potential to really push on. ONeill is a really exciting addition, Graham is without doubt a great signing and one of my favourites. Agyie clearly has potential. Sanders up to speed adds some class, Galbraith and Brown coming on a bundle. Cooper too is a positive. Exciting times. Not ready for promotion this season but the playoffs offer a significant financial opportunity. Worth getting there just for the money.

I'm still trying to shake off the image of Mungo's loins.
Put me off me dinner.

A very frank view, perhaps influenced by the loss. But he sounds deflated. I know the feeling.

Not to rain on your parade but Graham has suffered a significant injury. I'm not aware of his progress back to fitness, but playing Devils advocate if his rehabilitation doesn't go well he may have to retire. The club will I hope get the insurance money for him. This Ihope doesn't happen by the way and I wish the player all the best.

The more serious injury is to Theo.

He has the best care and attention given to him with a plan of action on a daily basis with full rehab.

If that’s next season, so be it. Worth the wait. The last player that excited me this much was Smyth when I heard he was coming.
