I thought he was doing well. Working hard, being a nuisance. Some people do not recognise the effort Ruel makes in a game . RW likes him ,that's good enough for me . Best player on the pitch tonight according to Ritchie’s post match interview.

I enjoyed that one. Felt we should have scored more, overplayed on occasions and some players looked like they were running on fumes, but the effort was immense. It’s a long way back to Blackpool when you’re sh1t.

We earned that. Poor start bit once we grew into the game there was only one winner. Some incredibly tired legs at the end. We are asking a hell of a lot for this depleted squad to perform miracles week after week but the will to win and Ritchie are driving them on.
Ruel was 100% MOM. It watched him closely second half and he battled and battled and held up the ball time and time again. He is massively underrated by some but not by the important people - me and Ritchie 😀

Ruel always looks the same, no matter if he plays in the NL or in the top half of EFL1. It could be he will look just the same in the championship? I was never a fan but he is doing the business as well as anyone so Kudos to him.

What struck me from watching the stream last night was the number of times Ollie, Ruel and - in the second half - Ethan nicked the ball in Blackpools half by their pressing. They are all relatively lightweight but young, quick and skilful.

That poor sub, the slomo showed his left knee going in wrong direction, it looks really bad. I felt that in my bad knee. Even from far away it looked horrible. Poor lad. And some pratt in the East stand behind me was shouting for the medics to drop the trolley he was being carried on ☹️☹️☹️

Thought Blackpool were very poor though, too much falling over and not much attempt to play - Beckles, Cooper, Brown, Miz were more than a match for them and all played well.

Trying to build confidence, maybe behind the scenes his confidence drops, who knows. And a good tactic so no complaints from me. But MOTM? Just accept Richie’s comments for what they are, good man management.

Sotiriou played well but personally I thought Cooper was outstanding.

So are you suggesting that in Richie’s eyes Kelman and Drinnan did not despite the praise? Richie has his style when dealing with players and let’s face it, who can criticise it. He knows his players better than we do. But some times we need to take it for what it is, managing his players in a way that will improve their game through confidence building. His comments are as much aimed at his players (and internal management) as they are to fans. Let’s just be happy that Ruel has a great manager in his corner and engenders sufficient confidence in him that he is happy to sign a new contract.

I didnt mention Drinan and Kelman at all. I was just saying that I dont think Ritchie was bigging up Ruel for no reason other than confidence. He earnt it. 100%

Galbraith was my MOTM but I also thought Ruel was good. Our press was excellent and he was a huge part of that. Perfectly weighted assist for O'Neill and almost scored a blinding goal himself.
Back to the press, that whole front 3 is relentless. Even when some aren't firing, like Shaq last night, it looks horrible to play against. Big Marv looked like he couldn't wait for the game to end 😅

Such a bubbling exciting player. When he replaced George up front he proved a real handful. Always a threat. Poor Shaq Forde looked tired during Burton and today.
