Just watched the highlights we should have had a definite penalty in first half blatant foul on Forde

Things improved a bit after the triple substitution, but a pretty poor night all round really.

Come on let’s be fair. Our guys, the poor luvvies, are all tired. The opposition have played fewer games and have a massive squad and nor suffered any injuries. And the referee was totally biased and gave us nothing, so a point against a side second from bottom is a magnificent result. We dominated possession and going backwards we have no equals., Wow….. It’s a joke. Though RW also commented on the backwards, sideways stuff. And gave Vale credit. We were poor so was preempting the excuses. Mind you I missed the Ramadan comment. Bit of fun in an otherwise poor game. I’m definitely not looking forward to going to Stevenage Saturday, just found out parking will be restricted due to a fun fare. Same happened before. Still, maybe pleasantly surprised. Stevenage have a tough game tomorrow so we have an extra days rest.

Why do we keep passing to people who are in a worse position than the bloke with the ball? Very noticeable that comment

I know lofc tried their best as they always do but at times the passing in triangles reminds me more of a five a side style of playing.
What concerns me was the passing across the pitch at the back including the midfield players which on a few occasions just missed one of the opposing forwards - who could have intercepted if they had been either more alert or faster reaction by an interception.
I do not understand this.
It’s a self-induced problem that one day will go wrong.
If lofc data analytics team could edit the match and condense the repeated times this occurred, then project these incidents on a large screen to demonstrate to the team why this is not a satisfactory way of playing.
We are a top ball retention side but passing across our penalty area or just outside our own penalty area seems illogically as the inferior opposition then think they are actually pushing lofc back due to the opposition ability when actually this is not the case.
The propensity of our excellent goalie passing it short to one of the two centre backs either side of him thus repeatedly put the ball back in our defence zone or territory area inviting the opposition to close the lofc down, then lofc under pressure passes to another nearby lofc player who is then cornered near the touch line. If the keeper had distributed the ball further up the pitch we would be playing away from our defence zone.

A justified wow in every sense in the face of such sarcasm and general peeing on the bed

I think our players looked confused when the system they were trying to play against PV didnt work. PV were well drilled and worked hard and we just didnt have the movement to break them down. We improved greatly when Ruel and Pratley came on.

Watfordo I wasn't able to make it last night ad I was coaching. Listening to RW it seemed our play was too slow which cost us opportunities. If we had played quicker would it have been different?

I can't decide between there being almost no decent options to the back line when they have possession or nobody wanting to make a long-pass which loses possession.
Passing it to Idris near the left touchline just boxes him in, same when the CBs pass wide to either full-back means we have fewer options than we had before the pass. Somehow our midfield have to be available and the forwards immediately available for the midfielder.
As frustrating as Ruel can be, he refuses to be blocked in and just goes for it, maybe others should follow his lead. We'll lose the ball more often but having possession and doing nothing with it is our current hurdle to jump.

It was too slow but I think that was nervousness faced with an aggressive and workmanlike PV who didnt give us the time we needed. Gosh, we really miss Theo running at people. When Ruel came on it was a different game. Ollie was quiet but again, Im not sure our change of tactics worked in his favour.
