Numerous fans have spoken of a budding rivalry between Orient and Stevenage. Is that done with Steve Evans leaving? In my opinion yes,but nice to have a rivalry.Miss the Southend United games especially when we beat them at Roots Hall, flying bottles et al.

Purely selfish reasons, great away day for us. Nice journey, generally easy to park and a meal in the shopping area, though the Harvester I believe is closing down. Plan to go next season. It will be interesting to see how they do without Evans. As for Southend, I hope they rejoin the EFL. Given all their issues off the Pitch, a 10 point deduction, embargo and for so long surviving with 12/13 players they have done exceptionally well and their manager deserving of manager of the season.

According to their own website they have 21 players so I'm not sure why you keep saying they have 12/13 which is clearly incorrect. www.southendunited.co.uk/teams

I just came across this news item regarding Southend United.
Southend United: Winding-up petition adjourned ahead of club sale.
A winding-up petition issued against Southend United in the High Court has been adjourned for four weeks.
Legal firm Stewarts Law LLP filed the petition in February over unpaid bills, after it represented the club in previous court disputes.
Blues chairman Ron Martin asked for the petition to be adjourned to allow its sale to a consortium to be completed, which would allow the money to be paid.
During a two-minute hearing, the case was adjourned until 15 May.
Barristers representing Stewarts and two of the club's creditors told Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton that they agreed to the adjournment.
Australian businessman Justin Rees, who leads the consortium purchasing Southend United, was also at the hearing.

According to their own website they have 21 players so I'm not sure why you keep saying they have 12/13 which is clearly incorrect. www.southendunited.co.uk/teamsFollowed them a little this season (my nephew being an ex long standing season ticket holder) and for very many games they were only able to field 1 or two substitutions, this was helped when they signed a guy who was on contract elsewhere on a dual club basis, never knew this was possible but apparently it was. The embargo, now lifted so they can recruit, prevented them from contract signing players. They may have slung in the odd kid at times. Your word have needs to be had! This went on for many months whilst the club were dealing with Financial issues, court cases, points deduction, power and water being turned off at their training ground and ultimately a takeover still not totally finalised now. All helped along through a local MP. With the embargo lifted they can and have recruited. Of course they have. The club today is much healthier. By following, I saw them once live, a couple of times on the NL stream service, via shrimperzone and weekly chats with my nephew. The club was an absolute mess with staff not being paid and money for players wages coming from who knows where. So not only was player money not guaranteed, they played with restricted numbers. But they played and did well! Add back the lost 10 points and despite all this they would be comfortably in the playoffs. Stunning. During this RW was continually moaning about too many games, too many minutes and tired players. I have no love for Southend but what they have achieved from a very difficult situation is remarkable. I say that as Football fan and not an Orient supporter, in their darkest hour they did not have great owners like us funding a recovery. Respect where it’s due, even for Southend. Remove partisan blinkers and that’s clear to see. So to really understand it’s no good looking at things today but you needed to keep abreast during the season. And while all this was going on they got amazingly good support. Just looked it up, average over 6,000. Higher than a handful of league 1 clubs and quite a few in league 2. Update: Thor, if you are really interested on just how well Southend have done, pop over to shrimperzone and read a new thread asking people to understand why the club deserves credit. Then tell me you are not impressed. I am.

What Doh is doing is offering up a balanced and fair minded opinion! Clubs In general and Orient in particular all too often get criticised for not doing this or that. The truth is that clubs quite often (business in general) are not in a position to get people to do anything where fixed term contracts are involved. Us losing a player last minute in January a prime example. The word “got” is plain wrong. We cannot get Ruel, Happe, Idris(if available), RW etc to sign contracts. Nor can Stevenage get Evans to sign. What clubs can do is offer their best deal and hope that is good enough. such matters are negotiated. If both parties are happy, a deal is done. Sometimes the addition of get out clauses greases the wheels. The concept of Stevenage considering Evans may move so got him to sign a new contract is plain wrong. There is no got, there or for our out of contract players or management. Doh explaining Doh doing Doh things.

2 games before the end of the season does seem an odd time though. I’d feel a bit put out by that as a Stevenage fan. Like he couldn’t wait to leave.

It was probably all done and dusted. Just waiting for Stevenage to either make or not make the playoffs.

Unless I've missed this too...
Steve Evans and Paul Raynor have gone to Rotherham.
But Alex Revell stays at Stevenage and is in charge of their game tonight.
Thought they were all a package.
