Coin gas meters at home. Remember as a kid my mum whacking it with her slipper to make the coin drop when it needed emptying Always had to stand on a chair to reach the gas meter. |

Cockney accents in the East End Many actors try to talk with a Cockney accent but fail miserably.The most notorious was Dick van Dyke whom I felt sorry for as his accent coach did a demolition job on the poor fellow,overdoing the OI sound in the accent. |
