It was a ham fisted attempt to draw a parallel between the passing of slam-door stock trains with the soon-to-be passing of Google Searches - the old trains of the millennials generation.

Got it,what rolling stock of trains did you drive on the central line fisch. My favourites was the older red ones before the all silver train, the present ones are by far the worst and not due for replacement for years. The Piccadilly Line are having new trains and they are far better than the present Central Line trains.

I don't think Google searches are going away just yet. Yesterday, we tried to use the AI in excel to deliver what we wanted without manual work in a spreadsheet. It was delivering something, but despite repeated instructions it was not able to deliver what we wanted. So AI is not quite there yet.

I was on the tube the day the heat record was set and it was proper evil. The amount of times I got kicked off an Epping train as they decided to terminate it early at Leytonstone was ridiculous. So pleased when I left that line behind I can tell you.

I worked for the underground in the 90s at various central line eastern section stations. I dreaded Leytonstone because of the abuse the staff got. And late night drunks Not by favourite job looking back.

I base my view of the results that Google gives you: A long list of web sites which ar mostly funded and either lobbyists, adverts or both. AI answers your question as good as Google but without all the crap - at least for now. I reckon whatever your instructions were, you'd get nothing better from Google / Bing.

The last stock where you could drive them like a bus on rails, the later stuff is all automatic and computers, I'd hate that. In the 70's I worked at the engineers' unit where we used old redundant trains including the red 'standard' stocks you mentioned which ran on the Central Line until 1963. They were death traps but so much fun if you could master them. I had a great job there.

I think you are right, but now it's so ingrained and Google are not about to throw the towel with all the money they are making. In 10 years time God knows where we will be.

And late night drunks Not by favourite job looking back. seen it myself. Its a Friday night rush hour and we got kicked off at Leytonstone due to one of the many points failures which plague that line (back then, don't know about now) and we leave the train and the platform is rammed packed top to bottom. It's probably dangerous and illegal looking back. There's literally no room. So the driver / platform man is making sure everyone is off the train then closes each carriage. He gets to the one I'm standing in front of and a man is standing in the doorway refusing to get off. He's holding his arms our to stop the doors from closing. He's saying we are going to take the train and drive it ourselves as its ridiculous. They are argue and the man is now shouting I'm not getting off, your gonna drive us to Epping. He's getting more aggressive and all of a sudden the crowd is parting and a man mountain of a man comes through and calmly says get off the train or I'm going to rip your limbs from your body. The man gets off!!

I was in Epping from 98 to 07 It was around 05 I guess. OK. Probably a bit late for famed man-mountain Terry Nevill. He was an Inspector (and railway lifer) who was so intimidating that he was renowned for "calming" things down when youngsters wanted to get a bit tasty. He would just arrive at the scene and all went quiet. A dodgy ticker got him as it does for so many massive blokes.
