Mrs redshank worked in Fine Fares head office, alongside some Conference League players who saw Wycombe Wanderers into the football league. That building in New North Road is now empty and about to be re-developed probably into a mini city.

Dot, Matchless, BSA, Ariel, AJS, Vincent, Royal Enfield... Were Triumph Acclaim's good cars? My auntie had one, it was essentially a licence-built version of the Honda Ballade with a Triumph badge on it. It was derived from the second generation Honda Civic, but with some modifications for the European market. My Auntie was very pleased with it and said it was a very good and reliable car ! A total of 133,625 Acclaims were produced, the vast majority of which were sold in the UK.
''The Triumph Acclaim is a front-wheel drive compact family saloon/sedan manufactured by British Leyland (BL) from 1981 to 1984, as a locally built version of the Honda Ballade. It was the final vehicle marketed under the Triumph marque, and the first product of the alliance between BL (later the Rover Group) and Honda which would last until the mid 1990s''
