There are gems out there looking for a club. But they were out there last week too, and the week before that. So let’s bring them in the day before we fly to Spain, or worse still when we return. Maybe it’s a case of the price is right or nobody else is interested.

Probably a good idea to have a succession plan for the Pratley role. His recent injury record is a concern though. Somehow managed 3 long-termers last season 😬 As we have bought in Warrington and he is 13 years younger I don't see the need for Sam. Both DM? I think Warrington is more the box-to-box ball-winner type, whereas I'd assume Hutchinson would alternate with Prats/Brown. Maybe Brown becomes more of a defensive utility player? Maybe Prats suddenly doesn't look able to play more than 20 minutes a week? Maybe I'm just trying to see sense in a potential signing we don't really need?

As opposed to the Jordan Lyden or Callum O’Reilly example!😆👍 Newtons law applies even in football.Jamie on a flying visit.

Hutchinson can also double as full back / centre back I believe- so possibly his utility value is what’s interesting RW?

Probably many clubless players roaming the internet looking for a club, many a dud or a gem to be spotted methinks.I like the Jordan Graham example. I would just say - Kevin Lisbie was clubless when he approached Russell

How on earth is Daniel Mândroiu still a free agent? I thought when he didn't resign for Lincoln then he must have somewhere lined up. Rumours in Ireland he will sign for St. Pats Athletic. Would work with ex Ireland manager Stephen Kenny there.

Marcus Browne played against Arsenal on trial apparently. Would be a wise move offers something a bit different

I like the sound of Mandriou and that John-Jules would be worth a punt.
Both under 25 and would fit our structure.
Lost track though.. do we need more midfielders? The new guy from Everton, Brown, Pratley, Moncs, Galbraith, Obiero. That's 6 fighting over 3 places, and 6 with varying skillsets and abilities. I like our midfield.
But that Mandriou sounds mustard.

Marcus Browne could be a good signing for that reason, whereas I don't think we could justify someone like Mandroiu without a move for Moncs first.

Assuming then that Mandriou is more attacking and Browne defensive Browne can play 10 and the wings, whereas Mandroiu is more of an 8/10. Both have a pretty healthy return at this level: Mandroiu a goal contribution in almost 1 in 2, Browne almost 1 in 3. Browne's shown it over almost twice as many games at this level so might be the safer bet despite less impressive stats (although I think he did a hammy last season). The additional depth on the wings, where we got hit hard last season, probably makes him the better signing for us imo.

Would work with ex Ireland manager Stephen Kenny there. He did well with Lincoln and was on an upward curve, so why go back to Ireland? All very odd if true.

I don’t know Marcus Browne but I guess when quoted goal contribution one in three it must include assists because since 2000 he has scored one in 7. As others have said I don’t think we need midfield even if moncour goes, unless of course we sell Galbraith. I hope not.

I guess when quoted goal contribution one in three it must include assists Exactly. Hence "goal contributions", not just "goals". Not sure we need to go back to when he was 3 years old, but in his entire senior career he's scored slightly more than 1 in 6. Or if you go by minutes played rather than appearances then it's 1 in 4.

From what’s been said above, Browne could also cover on the wings, so changeover for Graham/ O’Neill after 60 minutes. If it happens then gives more cover in the squad.
