Don’t know whether to be encouraged or disappointed. Bolton and Charlton fancied in what is considered a tough league. Yet in reality neither looked that good. Does that bode well?
But not overly impressed with us either. Has all the hype over the toughness of this season been over-egged? We wait and see. Roll on big spenders Birmingham.

Neither were great, yet both were better than us. That's really worrying. Although Hemming had a slightly better game, he is still an accident waiting to happen.
We don't have a big influence in midfield now El Mix has gone, & we are weak all over the place
I tipped relegation before a ball had been kicked, because although it's distressing to imagine league 2 football again, I'm a realist.
The squad is lacking in numbers & in quality.... That's a fact.
It's fingers crossed all season hoping we can get a bit of luck🤞

The squad is lacking in numbers & in quality.... That's a fact. It's fingers crossed all season hoping we can get a bit of luck🤞 We have quality in a number of positions. League 1 quality that is. But perhaps not enough. As I look around the same can be said of a number of others who are in the same boat. So whilst I’d be surprised and delighted if we flirt with the playoff it’s very unlikely. But I agree, we don’t have depth of quality and are hugely susceptible to suffering badly should key players be missing. We are in for a season of concern over every bad tackle on one of ours, or the inevitable accumulation of cards. We’ve already had the benefit of two decisions where reds could have been given. The yellows are mounting up. Going to be a tough season for quite a few teams. But relegation is not a foregone conclusion by any means. In fact whilst possible it’s unlikely.

Two major injuries and we’ll be up sh!t creek without a paddle.Feel free to disagree l agree but if this is best we can do on our budget then that's what being an Orient fan has always been about. We are punching above our weight just playing teams like Bolton, Charlton, Birmingham.... The unending pressure to stay at this level will eventually be the reason Wellens will leave. Maybe l should add a bit more sugar to my morning coffee 😁.

Or as Richie has said many times he’s building a squad to challenge. They maybe be young and babies now, but in one or two years they will be ready and flying. At least that’s what I hope the plan is! The major downfall in my assumption is the contract length and the number of players who will be out of contract next summer.
Time will tell.

That being the case, in one or two seasons when they have developed, they will be off and all we will get is compensation due to age. I really get the young player thing but not when coupled with 2 year deals. We do the work, others reap the rewards. Galbraith has impressed and come June he will be off on a free. if we are going down that route, do 3 year deals. If not go for older more experienced players, the Stevenage model last season.
