Thank you kindly, Thor. However, It was my fellow OSMF committee member Alex Hup, and the local tourist board, who instigated this special tournament. It promises to be a memorable trip for the lads and all who will be attending 😊

Here is the recent video of the trip made available by the club. steve, how did Alex get involved? He sounds Dutch so he would not be your usual Orient fan growing up near the ground. Bravo to him though for stepping up, that’s for sure. |

Bravo to him though for stepping up, that’s for sure. i saw that on you tube with Mrs redshank,always burns my soul of that great sacrifice. Alex is an experienced WW1 historian and tour guide, who came to hear of Clapton Orient's major contribution in the Great War. Although an Ajax fan since a small boy, Alex now loves the Orient and will be first to tell you the O's are now his club before Ajax. His passion for our great club has seen him drive over to games from the Netherlands, and more than one occasion, completing the journey both ways and attending a match - all on the same day. Alex met my eldest daughter during the tour to Ypres that I organised in 2017, and I am very proud to say he is now my son-in-law. Not only is Alex a fine historian and passionate O's fan, he is such a nice chap and is the best son-in-law I could ask for 🇭🇺🇬🇧 |
