I'm going to take 24 hours to think about this. As bad a performance as I can remember. We are better than that. We all know we are. Cluelessville

Jeez. Just saw the result. Didn’t bother with the last 20 minutes luckily.
Are we better than that? Or have we been kidding ourselves after 3 ok league performances and a narrow win agains a poor Millwall performance.
A reality check. The propaganda campaign gets its comeuppance. Pizzed off big time.
Our delusion laid bare for what it is.

Why did we bring in Clare? Is he better than Hunt? Never in a million years. We brought in Kelman changed our shape to accommodate him and he’s as s*** as he was the last time he was here. We refuse to fetch in a keeper of our own instead we bring in crusty the clown. Donley strolls around the pitch not putting in any effort and we get rid of Monks, well that’s looking like a wise decision.
Why change the team which played against Millwall who put in the work rate, who fought for every single ball. Instead we put the first team back in and they couldn’t give a dam or care what happened. Brown was useless it was like he was running in treacle. To be fair we’ve only ever improved players till now, O’Neil has gone backwards, in my opinion due to the shape change, but he’s not the same player he was last season. We lack balance in the team, that’s on Wellens shoulders and the s*** recruitment is on ling. Ling blamed another and the third s*** January dealings on a small market as players don’t move around, it’s better in the summer he said as you have more choice. So do tell me Martin what went wrong? Our recruitment was s***, that’s on you.
The new coach we brought in, was that at the request of RW cos when he was interviewed he said lingy called me and asked me if I fancied it, wonder if there are issues with Wellens again with that appointment like there was with Daryl?
I predicted we would finish 18th and after the first three games I thought I might have actually got it badly wrong, but today showed me we will be down that bottom area all season. Shrewsbury were pee poor, yet put three past us, two of them after moving to a back three. Class.
Today was a bad day, and the players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Wellens needs to get it sorted out and quickly, he says he wants players who want it like him, well on Tuesday they gave it for him, yet he dropped them, if it were me, I’d be peeed off massively.
Rant over.

Well, this is going to be a massively damaging result. It’s all very well playing well and narrowly losing against the big boys, but playing badly and losing against teams we’re meant to be competitive against, that’s going to be a morale killer. It’s early days, so it’s not like we can’t come back from this, but it’s not looking good. The only hope and I mean the only glimmer of hope is when we can get Graham and Archibald back out on the pitch, match fit. Unfortunately it will probably be far too late by then. As an aside, who on earth decided to buy Clare and give him a 3 year deal! Only the club know the prognosis for these two players. Let's look at the worst scenario only one player successfully recovers and starts playing. If the other one cannot fully recover can that player say that's it I'm retiriing. Can the club presumably insured the player retrieve some money back or does the insurance money go all to the player?

73% possession yet had one solitary shot on target, that’s poor really poor. Also despite all that possession we didn’t carve out too many’s chances and we didn’t force the defence to concede any corners as you do when under pressure, in the game we had just 2, again that’s poor.

We needed to play as well as we've played against much better sides today but we didn't. Not even close. Needs to be a wake up call for Richie because it's not gonna get any easier in September.
He can complain about subs not making an impact all he wants but is he making the right ones? Beckles for Happe seemed panicked. (Did Beckles not justify a start after the performance of a lifetime vs Millwall?) Prats on when you're chasing a game? He was terrible.
We started a very young side against a very experienced one today and it showed. Then we brought the veterans on and just looked leggy.
Can't blame Hemming for this one but you want your keeper to at least show they might stop the occasional good chance. I didn't rate Brynn but he did do that sometimes. Vigs did it constantly. After 540+ mins, Hemming hasn't once risen above the bare minimum. Doubt he could've done much for their second but he could've had a go, just like Birmingham's second. Looked dreadful with the ball at his feet today too. Do we really care too much about Middlesbrough's feelings to drop him?
It didn't look like there was any chemistry between Kelman and Agyei today. Both looked far too greedy. Can't blame any striker for that but which one are we building the attack around? Richie doesn't seem to know which one plays where yet. I've previously said I'd prefer Kelman through the middle, but seems weird to me that Richie would opt for that today and just leave him there despite ME OBVIOUSLY BEING VERY WRONG 😅
And O'Neill's career is being killed doing whatever he's being asked to do. It looks like he's being asked to play in a different formation to everyone else.
I was a bit concerned when Richie said after Birmingham that he feels like he's the only one who expects us to win against the teams we'd played. Is that a problem? Throws the kitchen sink at games we should be very happy with drawing and then spunks a very winnable game down the plughole.
I guess we can't clutch at good performances and narrow losses against richer teams than us now. That was pi55 poor and we need to rip it up and start again, just as we did when abandoning the back 3 last season.

Guys,it was a horrendous performance..Our players didn’t have a clue what they were doing,or even know what they we meant to be doing. So apparently Doneley was meant to be too good for us….Blimey.We’re in deep §hit! Plain and simple A damning indictment mrb!🙁

As does Wellens if he is as accepting of the recruits provided as he appears to be in “ transfer window” interview! Maybe I’m wrong but I still maintain that the root cause of this is the transfer budget provided.

I think the majority of fans recognise that individual errors be they by goalkeepers or anyone else are difficult to legislate for MungO and I certainly wouldn’t dig out the player(s) or RW for that matter on that score. There seems to be however some kind of deeper more systemic issue that means the team all too frequently does not play as it’s asked to or to it’s true potential. That’s what needs addressing.

As many have said, it was disjointed. It's a game we need to forget. At least we have a bit of time off now to put in some training ground work, now we have our full squad in.
