From where I was there was a punch up in a tunnel as you go down the stairs. No clue why, but they kept singing afterwards “we sit where we want” maybe that had something to do with it? We couldn’t sit in our seats as someone was there and they said “sit where you like” so not sure if someone took umbrage with something like that? Stewards didn’t seem bothered at all. Although I did see one take a good right hander!

I knew they had been deep diving into people's wallets as part of the bag checks as well, weird and stupid
If you're gonna police where people are sitting do it before the start of the game!?! Can't just do it at half time

My seat was in the middle of where the lads decided to congregate, so I was surrounded by them for the first half. We were all crushed in with two people per seat place, so bit like the good old days on the terraces. Guess stewards might have considered this to be dangerous and tried to enforce you sit where your ticket is, but if so it was never going to happen.

I've covered what I experienced in my Blog - for anyone who went to the Wimbledon match a couple of seasons ago it was pretty much a carbon copy.

I have found that it is best to get your tickets later rather than sooner for away games to not be with the "lads", especially if you are an old fart like me. The one exception was Charlton last season when we arrived just before kick off to find our "seats" were in the midst of the "lads". Luckily we found three seats together elsewhere. Barring a decent away cup draw, my next trip will be to Birmingham in the new year. I expect similar, but with an away capacity of 3,000, it should be OK.
