This video shows that some women can play really rough on the football field including Manchester City and England player Georgia Stanway who was given a straight red for this thigh-high, studs-up challenge on Leah Galton of Manchester United in the October 2021 Manchester Derby.

Football is a game of passion and spontaneity, never surprised at what goes on the field of play.Take away those passions, take away the game.

Ok playing with passion on the football field is one thing, deliberate vicious fouls and fighting is another and all the more surprising when it is women doing so !

The beast within us,2% Neanderthal geneo who were bigger brained and extremely tough.Shame they died out about 40,000 years ago by what is known so far.Homo Sapiens took over the world.I have a great admiration for the cold climate dwelling Neanderthals who have always had an undeserving bad press.

The level at which our senior team play is a "no quarter asked or given" scenario and the "competitive" nature isn't always constrained to the field of play.
These women are every bit as combative and determined to win as any men's team. Their gut busting fitness and strength building regime matches anything l've seen. Despite the crap seen on social media, it is full-on football.

Ok you can be combative in sport but some of these fouls are really far beyond the pale and potential leg breakers etc. Rightly so the worst offenders got red cards and hopefully they also got long bans. The Georgia Stanway foul on England team mate Leah Galton of Manchester United is quite awful and deserved a long ban.

Passion we all understand but there is absolutely no place in football for deliberate actions that can cause serious injury to another person. You can have passion without doing some of what we saw.

Some of the challenges were brutal. Loved the pull them back by the ponytail. I did wonder of that happens.

What I love, not just in these clips, is the shrugging of the shoulders and the “who me” look.

Now then dohnut, you have put the wrong interpretation on what I wrote. In the context of a game some vile actions take place.Football is a more violent game than you suppose, that violence is in the main contained, but at times some play mystifies, and who knows a players state of mind at a certain time.In short it is not a regular occurrence but when it does happen.............

And I'll raise you Vaughan Ryan.Who rememders that incident Not me. What did he do. Played for us in the 90s he basically assaulted an opposition player in front of the east stand and got sent off and was rightly slaughtered by the O's fans as he left the pitch. If memory serves me right he never played for us again

Do you ever come to the UK to see any of the live Os men or women's matches ? Not much these days. I rarely missed a game from '63 until the dismal 1990s but l wouldn't go that much now even if l lived locally, I've done my bit. I have seen numerous women's games and recognise how fast the quality is improving. Again, l don't go to football much these days, even when l visit my folks in Blighty.
