Ollie Kensdale Southend United

Ollie Kensdale was sacked by southend yesterday.By all accounts he was a young player making his way in the game.There are very strong rumours going around that he has a gambling problem and money has been stolen from either the players dressing room or club itself.Part of me is appalled but as someone who once not so long ago suffered with a chronic gambling addiction can sympathise and understand what may have caused this Gambling is as bad an addiction as heroin or crack cocaine and should be treated as such an illness.It is often treated as just a bit of fun and harmless entertainment and it is but once someone who cannot control themselves can destroy people and families.The government should treat it and recognise gambling addiction for the illness it is and stop companies advertising it everywhere day and night
