The home game yesterday ended a run of five consecutive first team games away from home. (EFL Trophy games don't officially count as first team matches)
This has only happened twice before in the club's history since joining the league; in November-December 1936 and in April-August 1955. All three times the last game in the run was a win and all three times the home game that broke the sequence was a draw.
The 1955 sequence included two consecutive away games against Walsall, the last game of 1954/55 and the first of 1955/56, both wins.
