Yet another poor attendance at Brizzy on Tuesday ,soo many empty seats and lack of atmosphere and that's not the first time . Surely that must be an end to all the speculation about a newer ,bigger stadium . Seems like there is absolutely no appetite from the local population to support Orient .

Too many home games clustered together. Too pricey as well. Peep watch at home now. Did we ever need a new stadium? I think our current one is fine Luton got to the prem with a capacity not much bigger than ours.

Don’t think it does stop the need. Quite the opposite.
Two reasons, Brisbane Road is not a ground that attracts. Comfort and amenities it’s a poor ground unless you are one of, to use DDs words, one of the faithful. Bit like going to a dilapidated seaside town or old shopping centre, it attracts very few people. Hell I don’t like going there. Fair play to the board for doing what they can but it will never be good enough for a championship team. In truth it’s well past it.
The second and perhaps most important reason. Success attracts. If the club are serious about Championship football then when it happens the club needs to be ready to reap the benefits of that league, the crowds that will come and the revenue it will generate. Not possible at Brisbane Road.
It boils down to whether the owners are planning for success or not in due course. Not a dismal Tuesday night in September but the future. Even if that’s 10 years.
Quick update.
Luton Town have submitted plans for a new 25,000 stadium. It will include a hotel and facilities for music events. Spot on. Stadiums just cannot be single use any more. They need to earn money elsewhere. Orient have in all honesty tried that in some small way. Grounds need to be multi-use and earn money other than 25 days a year. No doubt our new ground, when it happens, will not be solely reliant on football to bring in money. It will be a community facility earning its keep 365 days a year.
That will attract investors, not the football.

Just grateful we never moved to the London Stadium like Bazza lobbied for

Sounds great, but would cost £100m+ We'd need a team of investors like our match day squad. Maybe a bigger east stand here would help But obviously lots of hoops to jump through regarding council and householders. A multi use new stadium is first choice of course maybe even a shared one.I think the two Milan giants share or did once

Modern stadium with great facilities, great transport links, modern buzzing town centre. And for those that go there, easily split into two with the lower/closer part being fine for smaller crowds. As for atmosphere, who thinks Brisbane Road is that great for atmosphere. looking the deal WHU got, we missed a trick. No need to be looking for £100million on a new ground, finance a fraction of that on the players.

Midweek games will always have a drop off. Less time for people to finish work get in and get home again compared to a Saturday. Not long ago we were getting half the amount of spectators than the 6500 on Tuesday. Many fans have moved out the area.
As for a new stadium I think live within our means. We’ve got a ground in the heart of Leyton and the east stand as much as I love it, should be the one to be rebuilt properly (two tiers) to up the capacity

Must remember too that we have had a disappointing start to the season which does impact on the attendance.

It's also easier to stream games or whatever these days, and once you lose the habit of going to games, it's gone.

Not many Posh fans I only saw one coach in Brisbane Road.If the game had been played on the Saturday it would have been a much bigger attendance.Very disappointing though to see the attendances dropping, dosen't help with our sponsors or any addition to the board.Just hope it is a temporary blip. But I have this feeling that football is overmarketed and apathy is taking over.

There were only 9,400 in attendance at Stockport despite their great start. I thought they'd pull in more than that. Perhaps the opposition didn't look up to much ... .

Must remember too that we have had a disappointing start to the season which does impact on the attendance. Some clubs seem to sell out no matter how bad they are doing ,Wet Sham , Man U , Spurs . Some clubs struggle like Orient ,we bend with the wind as far as attendances go so it would take a very brave ,rich investor to put money into our club , especially where it is situated. Not being a racist but it does seem to me that you do not see many foreign faces in the crowd at Orient and on match days outside and around the area life goes on as if there isn’t even a game at Brizzy Rd . Just very little interest !

We need a good cup run to bring the maybe's back into Brisbane Road,MSM don't help as they are only interested in the big boys or celebrity clubs, the DT are obsessed with Wrexham,a recent article speaking cobblers about the New Hollywood where it is now the new place 'to live'.Sky are obsessed with Wrexham and Salford City who have been treading water since being promoted when we were NL champions and still have very poor attendances.

Just very little interest ! Over the years - and particularly recent years - huge efforts and no end of initiatives seem to have been made to increase attendances. For whatever reason though the net increase seems at best to have been modest. Maybe such increase as has occurred has been undermined by changes in age, demographic, social habits, etc. Or maybe we're just fated to have a small following no matter how successful we may become.

Maybe such increase as has occurred has been undermined by changes in age, demographic, social habits, etc. Or maybe we're just fated to have a small following no matter how successful we may become. We are definitely not fated to have small crowds. Certainly not in London. Live sports attendances are very good but you need an attractive offering to entice people. As I see it people want more when they attend live events. Expectations have grown from days gone by when standing on terraces, grotty toilets, and amenities were limited to a Bovril and a packet of peanuts were the accepted norm. There is a reason why so many clubs have improved their facilities, including Orient. No longer a game but a match day experience. And it’s not just the big boys who realise this. We advance or we stagnate. Investors will invest in grounds that offer value-add. Hearn tried this but didn’t get approval, think he wanted a casino. It’s not just about football. Hotels, sports facilities, conference facilities, social facilities, live music events, sporting events. Plus games. That’s the investment attraction. Long term ROI and not solely dependent on on-field success. But helps support it.
