Our 1978 cup run was mainly due to Peter Kitchen's goalscoring, and he was signed when Petchey was still in charge. You’re right billk. The ‘78 cup semi final outfit were still very much Petchey’s team - in fact offhand I can only think of one player - Peter Bennett- who Bloomfield signed - and that was 8 years before in his first stint as manager.! |

RW reminds me of petchey on the 70s The more the fans want something,the less chance they'll get it. Same situation as pre season WANTED..unattached experienced striker,age no object As a highly respected manager once said- “ if you listen to the crowd, you’ll soon be joining them”👍 It’s absolutely stupid and amazingly arrogant not to listen to the views of others. And I don’t mean just in football, any manager worth his salt listens because some of the best ideas come from the masses, that I know for a fact. A good manager listens, then makes up his own mind based on all available information. You don’t have to accept or agree with views but listen. |

As a highly respected manager once said- “ if you listen to the crowd, you’ll soon be joining them”👍 It’s absolutely stupid and amazingly arrogant not to listen to the views of others. And I don’t mean just in football, any manager worth his salt listens because some of the best ideas come from the masses, that I know for a fact. A good manager listens, then makes up his own mind based on all available information. You don’t have to accept or agree with views but listen. Think it was a Bill Shankley quote tbh. Not sure he was stupid or amazingly arrogant!😆👍 I guess he was referring to basing decisions upon the reactions of the crowd rather than on his own convictions. |

Fair dos..Maybe a confidence thing..Even though he comes across as a confident players in his interviews he's not match fit yet, nowhere near. Also he's been out so long it's gonna take him half a dozen games to get his touch, rhythm and work rate back to the required level. I don't know how long he got tonight but 10 mins here or there will take longer, but I also get we are protecting him in his return which is absolutely fine with me. Graham, work rate, don't make me laugh. I called him out last season at the Charlton game. He's quite happy plugging away trotting up and the sides waiting for the defenders to get in front of him, eventually putting cross. Defending, can't/wont you pick your choise, He's copping a big wage ain't worth tuppence, said before, a lazy player happy to steal a wage and a sicknote looking for an injury. Get rid asp. |
