I have to say I lean towards the pessimist arrow.I personally Ritchie has done all he can with this squad If I had to choose between the two, (I'm a pragmatist in truth) I would have to say all my working life I’ve been an optimist to a fault. A can do attitude. Relish a challenge, not enough hours in the day and all that management nonsense. Let’s go, rah rah rah. What a crock! When it comes to football however I find it hard to swing one way or another. Too influenced by the last result, the last transfer window and so on. So being a realist is my chosen position. Analytical Hugely up after Stockport, totally down after Exeter. Optimism/pessimism a moving feast. you say pessimist! I doubt that reading your posts. Just hacked off by Tuesday like us all.

You have a history of being very optimistic about the chances of injured players coming good to turn around the Os fortunes.

Realist, I should say - someone once asked me if I was a "glass half full" or "glass half empty" sort of chap. My response was that it depends what's in the glass....make of that what you will!

Dohnut on the ball again! I agree in a post-match postmortum sense, especially just having listened to Richie's analysis. But my optimist/pessimist cycle tends to flow during the match. It depends on how quickly (or not) we score. How many goals up we are at half time, and then again after about 75 minutes. And vice versa. Who has the ball. The sense of atmosphere in the stands at Brisbane Road. Where the ball is on the pitch and who's running after it. Our subs warming up. Who is still on the pitch for us and who is warming up. It's up and down. I'm sure others would agree.

"a lifetime supporting Orient does that to a fella" Realist = pessimist mostly. Yep, and the feeling walking away from the game, past the nice pizza restaurant, can be difficult regularly. But we live in hope.

Such a mature comment, you must have really knocked English Literature out the park when you were at school, maybe you are still at school? Shakespeare must be spinning in his grave when he reads your posts.
