Start with no strikers was very dicey. Some of our young players are not ready for starts. Harry Kane won't lose sleep for fear of being deposed.

I really don’t understand why any of you lot even bother to switch it on anyway ! I turned it off before halftime, caught up with High Lights later and we had got worse, clueless. Ian Hendon could have done better

You could play games on it or watch videos. I was in a games shop and I saw the 1966 world cup final so I bought it and watched it on the train. It was the first time I'd ever watched the game in its entirety.

Dross and a loss fits nicely into those glorious first four chords of the mighty Beethoven's fifth symphony.Da da da daa.

Geoff Hurst takes the plaudits as he ultimately scored the goals that won us the game. The performance of Nobby Styles was unreal, what a player he must have been. He worked so hard for the team it was unreal. He covered every blade of grass, won tackle after tackle and broke up play so many times that if it were not for him, we probably don’t win that game. Alan Ball also played really well. For me the big thing was the team played as a team, worked as a team and everyone knew their jobs. They had a plan and sticked to it. Watching it made me feel proud, made me appreciate what that team accomplished as I wasn’t even born when we won that World Cup. The players wanted it and sometimes during my lifetime I don’t always think or see that from an England team. The golden generation being one such team who should and could have won tournaments.

In a documentary/ interview I think it was Hurst or Bobby Charlton / Alan Ball that said they would not of won that final match without Nobby Stiles

I watched the 1966 final again-first time for ages in entire length recently. Have to echo stiles and ball were absolute heroes. Sweated blood and controlled midfield. Happy days.
