I was really pleased when he signed. Disappointed not available to February. But my take is this. Football is a squad game, players get injured or suspended so you need depth. Clare being out isn’t the big issue, it’s who replaces him and who is cover when substitutes are needed. We have no quality depth-wise. Loss of a key player a mega-issue. Bigger than it should be in reality. I think back to all those comments from RW about what he needs pre-season. Did it happen? Nah. Currie, Ball, Clare came along late, but at least they arrived. Can’t help feeling that we have taken a chance on depth not really suited to our needs nor what RW wanted. At the same time shipping players better than their replacements. The ramifications of pre-season planning and mediocre signings is what we see on the pitch. DON’T blame the players! DON’T blame RW. Who are the mediocre signings that you comment on.Have you scouted for the club and recommended better players.Players come and go because of agents and the Bosman result.Lots of money in this league and above,we ain't got money, but we do have a great club and board and play in League 1, which at one stage was just a dream. Get to the matches cheer on the team is the help we can give.

We have been unlucky with players hitting form and then getting injured I have been demonised for saying just that. Yet Northampton yesterday on the back of a major injury crisis beat us! Form and injuries affect most teams not just us. Earlier in the season you will recall we often had no issues, bar Theo. Didn’t make too much of a difference did it? We need to stop rolling out the excuses. The club has laid its playing-staff squad bed. Up to the coaches to make a few silk purses.

Get to the matches cheer on the team is the help we can give. That to be honest is a lame comment. I could easily go through the list of incoming players who contribute very little, as could you. Players on contracts too who rarely play, not to mention two loan goalkeepers and other loanees who get a handful of minutes because they are clearly not ready. Not always about money, it’s about the ability to spend it wisely. We have professional recruiters, people with years of experience, people who know the game, have contacts, the ability to spot appropriate talent, etc etc. It’s their job. It’s what they are paid to do! Yet look at the evidence on the pitch. That is not the result of competent squad building. Nor do I believe it’s even close to what RW was saying he needed. We shafted Jackett and the same is happening to RW. He sounds down, I don’t blame him. Makes no real odds to me other than the weekly getting hacked off. After 65 years I’ve seen it all before. But I listen to all the positive rhetoric about our future yet witness rubbish where it matters, on the pitch. I feel for NT and the Board who are financing the current shambles. And I hope RW turns it around. With two failures at League 1 level already he personally cannot afford a third.

Chill out Dohnut!
We can’t sign any contracted players till Jan. We have what we have and the only answer is hard work on the training ground. I’m sure that is happening. We will come good. Stay positive!

Stay positive! Hope so Thor. I’ve no desire to watch the club get relegated and I don’t believe we will. RW will work with what he has, of course, no other option. And I sincerely hope we are not reliant on January, that doesn’t inspire confidence. But whilst all that hard work is going on, results on the pitch are pretty dire in the main. Still, always Tuesday.
