Bad news, it's on the website.
All the best to him and hope maybe he can be fit for the start of next season. Most disappointing news - especially given the conflicting information that has been given to supporters over the last month or so. I understand that medical opinions/ situations change and have to be modified accordingly but in terms of communication this has been handled very badly. In the meantime, my sympathy is with Theo and I wish him well in the future.

Richie said pre season that Archibald would be missing until Xmas and then at the meet the manager night in October advised would be out for 10 months. This was contradicted by Theo himself and in Richie’s pre match comments before the Blackpool game last week he was talking about Theo being ready in 4/5 weeks! A very muddled picture imho. As I said, I get that things change but let’s face it, the messaging has been all over the place on this occasion.🤔

Knee injuries are awful and its not till you get them that you get to realise how badly they can effect your life and the things that you can do. I know this from once having two very strong knees then getting right knee ACL when I was around 21 years old in 1969 when playing football and then twisting my other knee in a freak accident when helping someone to carry a heavy flat pack in year 2000 resulting in tearing half the cartilage in my left knee. When I was young I thought I was bullet proof and then I found out that I wasn't ! Best of luck to Theo.
''Leyton Orient can regrettably confirm that forward Theo Archibald has suffered a setback during his recovery from his Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.
Archibald, who underwent surgery in March of this year to repair his Anterior Cruciate Ligament, has suffered a setback to his left knee and has required further surgery, and is now set for a further spell on the sidelines. Orient Head Coach Richie Wellens added: "We're just absolutely gutted for Theo. He has worked so hard with our medical team throughout his rehab, and it really is cruel that we now know that he has been set back further. We'll continue by his side during this difficult time, and hope that we can see him back out on the pitch as soon as possible. With the mentality Theo has, and the support of everyone at the club, from the Chairman, to the staff, the players and our excellent supporters, we know he'll bounce back." Archibald added: "I had been feeling good and was beginning to get excited to get playing again. The situation has changed again, and it's a tough one to take, but your support and love for the last eight months has been what has driven me in the darker times, and I appreciate it a lot." We're all with you, Theo.'' www.leytonorient.com/news/2024/november/19/theo-archibald-suffers-injury-setback/

It is not so much as we love his play it is just that he comes across as a really nice fellow.Probably the worst news we have had this season so far. If faith can heal he has a lot of faith from Orient fans so come on Theo.

At the hospital yesterday in regard my knee, one of the options was another replacement which would have resulted in agonising knee pain for another three years, lack of mobility and possibly death.Left it at a visit the same time next year. This left knee has been a problem since 1974 when I had meniscus surgery, always been swollen and still is.The knee is a wonderful thing when working properly but an injury is very difficult to deal with.Theo is stronger than I was and gets the best of attention, looking forward to his complete recovery, playing for the O's again and can only imagine the reception he will get when he takes the field again.

My right knee replacement was done in March this year. agony after the operation for around 6 weeks, nerve pain etc, and on very strong painkillers which also made me constipated. Its now 8 months since the operation and a lot better now.As to my left knee tore half the cartilage in a fall in year 2000 and operation followed to remove the torn cartilage, yes when young and charging about running and doing my sport etc, took my knees for granted.

Was only half listening but my understanding is that they had conflicting medical opinions from two specialists and it only became clear more recently that the more pessimistic prognosis was the correct one. They said the club hadn't wanted to give a running commentary because it was a deeply emotional time for Theo, which you can understand. It sounds as if the club is going to stick by him and is talking to him about his future. Nigel (I think it was) said Theo has a bright future in the game even when he stops playing. You can speculate that a coaching role might be available if the worst comes to the worst (and that the club mascot doesn't develop a Scottish accent) but we all want to see him back on the pitch. Good luck Theo!
