This may go against people but does anyone else here believe slade isn't a good manager when there is pressure to win, like now we have money we brought good players people expect us to challenge for the tittle and win every game, whereas normally we have no money and people expect us to battle relegation and go into every game as underdogs, some managers have a calling as underdog managers and some managers thrive when there is pressure, slades box of tactics seems bare, and it seems to be the same thing over and over again. I'm not sure he knows what to do with the resources we have,

I always thought Slade was a great motivator and man manager but he is tactically inept and you are right the pressure to win is getting to him.
I fear his 'work in progress' excuses will not fly with the Italians for much longer.....

I make the assumption that Henderson was brought in to be a like-for-like replacement for Lisbie, maybe a little better. Quite why we now see him as the only real attacking outlet seems a bit confusing. Lumping up to the big guy all the time seems like a good way to survive in the league but nothing more.

We knew it was going to be tough this year because we are now a 'big' club in the eyes of others. In retrospect we can see it was a pretty fantastic unit that Slade put together in the last two years, for not much money, after a very poor season with a load of dud performers. I doubt we'll ever see it's like again and Slade clearly still trusts it more than the newcomers who generally aren't yet delivering much. Somebody wrote the other day that Slade seems a bit p****d off. I wouldn't go quite that far but his happiness level seems to have gone down a notch, maybe it's the pressure. Also he could do with getting some weight off.

I fear his 'work in progress' excuses will not fly with the Italians for much longer..... slade has been the best coach I've seen at the os in years.but now with a new owner and money to play with expectations are sky high and slade is not living up to expectations .italian chairman are not known for there patience.yesterday a friend said to me what's the betting the next manager of the os is an Italian .zola ?di canio or di mattieu were mentioned .i think by the start of October if the os are not challenging for promotion then it's goodbye slade .last night the Leeds boss hockaday is already under pressure and this is only 4 games gone and Leeds have an Italian .i think start of October if slade isn't making the music then it's time to stop the dancing .

3 games in is this topic worth any salt at the moment It wasn't a slade out movement it was more a question of the type of manager slade is, and how I believe he is an underdog manager, I don't beleive he's management skills suit having all this money,

I expected us to struggle a bit early this season but we will see this team improve - Slade has yet to settle on his best Eleven and the new players will take time to gel with the squad members from last season, if we are still struggling by the end of September it will be more of a concern.
Brentford went through the same process early last season and only really hit their straps after 10/12 games, O's fans more than anyone need to appreciate that the season is a marathon and not a short sprint.
